Hi, I am new to these boards and have been doing extensive research for three professions in the health field and I found myself reading through the forums here.
I have an associates in Business and I am looking for a career change into something that will help people and at the same time offer stability. My three interests are Registered Nurse, Physical Therapy assistant, and Radiologist. The research I have done tells me the "goods" and "bads" regarding these positions but I have yet to speak to people who actually work in these fields. I know that all will help people in some way, but each has its pro and cons with me.
Is there anyone that can give me personal insight of any of these professions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks....

well, to be a radiologist, that means that you have to go first for your undergraduate degree (bachelors) and then to med school and then for a residency. to be either a rn or physical therapy assistant will mean going back to school for two to three years depending on the prereqs you may have already finished before.
the benefit of nursing is the wide range of choices that you will have after you finish school.

I'm sorry, I think I made a mistake when I typed Radiologist. The program is to become an x-ray technician. It is also a two year and they have one here in Brooklyn at New York CC. I believe there are many options in nursing and my first choice would be pediatrics. Is it difficult to find a job in that field in NY? Would I have to go for extra schooling once my two years are completed?
Thanks alot for you help...
