Does anyone have any insight on the interview @ UNCC/CMC's program? I have not found much information out there. I am looking to apply for Fall 2012- Been an RN for three years, working in CCU recovering hearts- lots of hemodynamic experience. Just got my CCRN, CSC, & CMC this year. GRE- 500 verbal, 670 quant. GPA 3.65 overall, I really want to get in- Would appreciate anyone's input on the interview!!!!

Hey there!!!
I too have been wondering about the interview at UNCC/CMC. I have been unable to find anything at all about the interview, and I am a bit nervous. Anyway, I wish you and I both the best of luck; the one thing I have read is to expect a panel interview. Seems like just enough info to scare you, but it is better than knowing absolutely nothing. Anyway, hopefully someone will tell us something ;-)
Anybody accepted yet????

I am a current student @ UNCC/CMC. the interview is panel style with ~6 panel members. each interview is allotted ~30 minutes with a mix of clinical and "get-to-know-you" questions.
WolfpackRed,
How do you like the program? How far are you in? I am worried that my application is going out later for the last set of interviews. I wanted to make sure that my app was really strong to I made sure i got a few certifications. I recently toured the campus this fall, did not get to see all of it from time constraints but I really liked it there. Sorry dont mean to impose I'm just really excited about applying!
I have enjoyed the program with its many strengths (no anesthesia residents in an urban, academic level 1 trauma center) and weaknesses (regional rotations have suffered recently, but the program director is correcting this).
Charlotte is a great city and Carolinas Medical Center is an awesome facility. Many of the other clinical sites are located within Charlotte and the areas just outside of the city.
I am about to finish my fourth semester (out of seven).
I just had another question if you dont mind. Were you an NC resident before you started the program. If not, have you/are you going to establish instate residency for tuition purposes? Do you know how hard it is to establish in state residency?
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I have been a NC resident prior to starting school; however ~40% of the class came from outside of NC and I dont recall any specifics from them. Check UNCC's website to see what criteria are needed to establish residency. I seem to recall that it took about a semester longer than they anticipated.

Completely random question...I start the CMC program in August- is there a dress code for classes? Just wondering what to expect and dont' know any CMC grads or current SRNA's. Thanks!
there is a dress code. think business casual. definitely no jeans/t-shirt. you should receive an electronic version of the student handbook ~1 month prior to starting the program. the handbook will detail all the policies, including dress code.
Thanks! Guess I get to go shopping :)
