Hello everyone! Has anyone applied to the 2017 UNC New Graduate Program? If so, have you heard anything back from them? My application status has been "under consideration" since January 4th. I'm excited and can't wait to hear back from them.
I still hadn't heard anything about 2 weeks ago so I called HR and asked to check the status of my application. They put me through to the Nurse Recruiter and we talked about my application and she set me up with two interviews! She appreciated me calling and advocating for myself. I would suggest trying that! They were super nice and helpful!
Hi All!
UNC is my #1 choice but I'm out of state. Do they prefer local candidates? I see they are staggering it so that they have new grads starting all the way through October. I got an email that all of my documents were submitted and I'm under consideration. I wonder how many new grads they're hiring this year?

I applied to UNC as a new grad a few years ago. At that time, the timeline was as follows: Applications were due in early Feb. Internal applicants (people currently employed as CNAs) started getting interviews in March-April. External applicants were offered interviews in late April and beyond. I didn't hear anything until the last week of May; I was offered an interview, but I'd already accepted a job that started less than two weeks later.
When I applied, I also heard that the timeline could vary each year. Apparently the year before they did the hiring much earlier, and people were getting offers in March. Overall, though, they seem to be on the slower side. My year, Duke was already handing out job offers around the time that the UNC applications were first due.
