Did anyone attend UNC-Chapel Hill SON program? I plan to apply to UNC-CH SON for the Summer 2011 session. If so, how was it? Is the program really competitive? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Thanks Aubreys Mama I am thinking it is a no for me this round. I have been driving my mother crazy calling her from Spain everyday to see if I got anything in the mail but still nothing. I will apply again for the summer admission and hopefully have better luck that time around.
I applied this past May and got my rejection letter fairly late. I called the SoN and set up an (phone)appointment to review my application. She went over my application with me and told me what the board thought of my essay's which ones not to touch, ect. She also told me things they look for that I got credit for like volunteerism, ect. She gave me a lot of info and I used ever bit. I did complete my A&PII as well which increased my science GPA. If you don't get in call as soon as you can becasue they might even recommend retaking a class like PSYCH (they did for me but by the time I called it was to late). Good luck!

Thanks for the advice do you know who you spoke with?
Congratulations to all of you that will be starting in the two nursing programs at UNC! I am about a year behind you....still working on my prerecs. I would really love to go to UNC, but I have heard it is very difficult to get in. Can any of you give me some insight on what is currently acceptable for GPAs in previous degree and prerecs?
My youngest is a senior in high school, and I am ready to go back to work. My previous degree is in Finance- 3.6 GPA and a 4.0 so far in my prerecs. I am volunteering at Children's Hospital once a week, and I LOVE it! Any input or tips would really be appreciated!! Oh, and I am out of state....does that make UNC an impossible dream?
Thanks

Welcome to the School of Nursing!
Congratulations!
They word it like that because officially only the University can accept you into an undergraduate program. They can only officially recommend you to the school. At some point I think I got a letter from UNC's UG admissions office as well. Go to your MyUNC account and see if there is information there.
