UNC-CH BSN May 2017

Published

Hey! Anyone else on these forums that are awaiting a decision letter from Chapel Hill for their BSN program starting in May? I was waitlisted for last years program so I am cautiously optimistic on my chances. I was surprised that there hadn't been a forum started for this years program. It's getting down to the wire now and I am beginning to count the days!

I went to connect Carolina/InfoPorte, clicked on self service, and then update info. It was listed in the first box under general information.

Thanks! Just checked, and I see my PID too.

Do you think they only update the PID number for students that are accepted??!

I'm also pretty surprised that there are no guys replying to this thread haha!

If you dont mind me asking, what are yall's gpa for undergrad and prerequisites?

Person ID (PID) - Finance and Administration

Looks like it was generated when we made our guest accounts... so maybe it's not necessarily an indication of acceptance??

Are all of you second degree students or are there any undergrads on this thread?

My transfer GPA from my AA was a 3.75. Did you guys have work experience as CNA's? I have a lab tech position so I'm hoping that'll still count quite a bit toward medical work experience.

I'm an undergrad. I got my Associates in science, my gpa was 3.58, so kind of worried about that hurting my chances. This is my second time applying. I got my CNA and work at a hospital. But I don't think having your CNA is a requirement but hopefully it helps.

Your GPA is high! Why would it hurt your chances? How was your application the first time you applied. I have 6 months of CNA experience and volunteered several places over the years. One of which was Duke-Raleigh. I'm still nervous

I guess bc it could be higher. I know there's people that get in with high GPAs. The first time I applied I didn't have any CNA experience, and my gpa was lower (I retook some classes this past semester). I rewrote my essay bc they told me it could be improved. I also don't have too much volunteer experience, another worry. But it sounds like you've got a good chance since community service is big for them. I hope we find out by the end of this week at least.

I think having your CNA is a positive on your application, although it's not necessarily required. Someone in the nursing school told me that they really want to see you work for at least 6 months as a CNA. However, they accept any type of volunteer work, as long as you're consistently doing something. I just hope we all get in and hear something either today or tomorrow!
