UNC ABSN applicants - Spring 2014

U.S.A. North Carolina

Published

Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for those of us applying for UNC's ABSN program starting in January 2014. There is another thread on here, but it looks like it's only about Duke's applicant pool. I know the application isn't due until August 10th, but when I applied to Duke for the fall I found talking to others in the same situation helped with my nerves! :)

I hope everyone's application is going well so far! Let's keep each other updated on how things are going throughout the process and share information as we go. Good luck to everyone!!

I got my acceptance in the mail! I'm still in shock that this is happening! I look forward to meeting everyone soon. :)

Good luck to those still waiting!!

Congrats :D I'm hoping ill hear something in a few weeks :).. Hopefully

Got an acceptance letter! And my good friend who I did most of my prereqs with was accepted also. Both of us live in Greensboro. Does anyone who was accepted know what to enter under the forms for where it says PID. Im assuming it wants some sort of identification number but idk what to put. Any help would be appreciated! Good luck to everyone!

I am also trying to figure out the PID number. I believe it is an identification number that is given to us on the my unc page once it has been updated. If you find out please post what it is!

I just called the SON about the PID number. It is the number listed after "lwid" in the top left corner of your Connect Carolina page (mine has nine digits).

Anybody who's been accepted, turning down their acceptance by any chance ? ;) congrats to all who got accepted!!! Hoping I can all join you in January :D *fingers crossed*

I got accepted. Just found out. Does anyone know the tuition for instate and out of state?

Congratulations!! :D were you on the waitlist? I'm still waiting to hear if I got pulled off. I believe in state is 24,000 roughly and out of state is about 36,000 more than that.. at least that's my understanding

Thanks!! Me too, I spoke with the school of nursing and she said there wasn't anything wrong with my application and would hope that I get off the waitlist, I just really wish they would tell me where I was lol, I'm still checking my mailbox for good news :) but in the event I don't get off the list I know what I can do to only better my application for next time.. Lets hope there won't be a next time :D

I was added from the Wait list a few days ago. Does anyone know how financial aid works? Are we only eligible for loans because we have degrees? Does the school provide any aid?

Specializes in Coronary Care.

I emailed the office of financial aid, and from what I understand we are pretty much only eligible for loans since we have degrees (from the school that is). I am hoping to find something out at the pre-orientation session!
