I actually live in Severn and it takes me 15-20 minutes max with traffic to get to downtown Baltimore. 295 N. straight down takes me to the school. From Glen Burnie you take 97 South which is easily accessible, take 100 Ellicott City and get on 295 N and get to the school in no time. If anyone is considering other housing options other than Baltimore in the surrounding cities such as Glen Burnie just allow 10 extra minutes. Going into Baltimore in the morning isn't bad. Coming home may take a little longer during rush hour. It all depends on how safe you feel with your selected location and if the commute will save you money on housing or not. Good luck to everyone looking for housing.
For some reason i was thinking 695 but that way works. Less traffic. 695 is horrible in the morning and evening either way. Catonsville or that area near wilkins ave may not be a bad choice either as far as housing near the city. There are many options. Public transportation goes everywhere from annapolis to the city of course all around the cities off the beltway to howard county etc. Something to consider.

I've applied for the Spring 2013 semester. After looking at everyone else's teas scores and science gpas online, I feel like I'm not going to get in. I didn't do so well on the teas, and my science gpa is 3.25. My overall gpa is 3.77 which I thought was good, but now I don't even know! And we have to wait until Nov. to find out! That's the worst! I'm already bummed.

Did you write a good personal statement and have you finished all of your prereqs? I feel like those things could definitely help your application. 3.77 is really strong though! Everything that I've heard about UMB seems to indicate that they really look at the whole applicant, so I wouldn't be bummed out because you feel like your numbers might not be where you think they should be.
I do think that my personal statement was good. I made it sound a bit different to stand out; it was very personal yet still on key with what they wanted. I've finished all of my science prereqs but I'm still in stats, nutrition, and my last humanities class. I'm going to apply to volunteer at a hospital near me in case I'm not accpeted. I've also become a part of a leadership program at my current school, and I'm going to join the health and wellness club. Hoping all of this will make my resume look better for if I have to reapply!! Oh and of course I'm going to retake the TEAS. I got a 76.8 the first time. I got 80's in the reading and math sections, but I got in the 70's in the science and english which I'm embarrassed about!! I don't know what my percentile for UMSON is because my school (AACC) put their program down on my test.

I just came to work on my application and realized...I MISSED THE DEADLINE!!!!!!!!!!
I am a blubbering, sick in my stomach, mess, right now!!!!!!!! I had the 15th embedded in my head!!!
Oh my God, I can't even come close to believing I have screwed this up!!!! I had three schools I was applying to this go round, and evidently the 15th was for another school.
Dear Jesus, I can't even come up with words right now. I am literally sick...
Wow SB113 I'm so sorry! Maybe you can you apply again for the fall semester?
Oh SB that's a major bummer Good luck with your other schools though!

SB113,
I'm so sorry! I almost did the same thing. That was Towson's deadline for last month. I wish you the best with Towson and the other school. Keep your head up.

Hi everybody
i'm also applyig to UMSON for spring2013 im super duper nervous i applied to 4 nursing schools for fall 2012 and didnt get accepted anywhere :[ it sucks but im only 19 so i guess it's ok if i'm not going to be graduating on time. this time around im applying to 10..yes 10..schools lol i'm currently in atlanta right now so if i got into UMaryland it would be a huge change especially since i despise cold weather but at this point im willing to suck it
Yes, I can apply for a year from now, but I have busted my rear end over the past year to make RIGHT where I went WRONG when I first applied and was rejected. Retook my one science C and earned an A. Finished all other pre-reqs with A's, am volunteering at two different departments in Shock Trauma, rewrote my essay and resume, etc.
It's sickening that I made such a detrimental mistake! I took the advice of a very wise lady here and decided to apply to more than once school, so I had the 15th written for UMSON...which obviously was incorrect. So now, I can't even apply for the ONE school that means the most to me.
Sick doesn't even cover how I feel.

SB113, Have you considered asking admissions for an exception? I did the same exact thing with another program and had it set in my mind that it was due one day later. I hand delivered my application and they took it. You never know.... I would go for it if I were you.
Does anyone know when decisions will start coming out for the spring? Will it be Oct/Nov timeframe?
