Hello all, I am planning to apply to UMSON in the fall 2016. I haven't seen a thread yet for other hopefuls and potential candidates. So I wanted to start one.

No I don't know. You should've applied to Towson though. I did, but the deadline was Jan 15th.

I am also applying for the BSN Program for the Fall of 2016.

I feel like this years poll is quite competitive. Good luck to all of you guys!

My gpa is at a 3.7 and I got a 84% on my teas V.

Hello everyone!

I applied twice to the UMSON program located at the Baltimore campus. I was wait listed for the fall of 2015 and I completely re-submitted a new application for the Spring 2016 and I am happy to say that I was accepted!

Just to give you guys some background on my stats (which were not spectacular):

-I completed my undergraduate degree in Music Performance and earned a Bachelor's of Music Degree at University of Maryland College Park

-Overall GPA: 3.45

-I retook Anatomy I (first receiving a C+ and then an A+ over the summer) and Chem Lab (first receiving a C and then an A- over the same summer before I re-applied)

-I received an A in Microbio and a B in Anatomy II and Gen Chem

-I also took a CNA class/CPR class over the summer at HCC

-My TEAS score was an 85

My stats were not amazing and I wanted to let you all know that UMSON really takes your application into consideration and looks at everything! If you are wait listed, do not give up hope! It means you are close, but you just have a little more work to do! I am really looking forward to starting my first semester on Monday and meeting you next semester :)

Hi Everyone! I am new to this site and very happy that there is a UMSON Fall 2016 thread. I know the applications are not due for another week or so, but does anyone know when letters should be going out? Or how many people they accept each semester? I was recently admitted to another second degree nursing program and I am just trying to get a feel for how long before we would hear from UMD, so I can make a decision. I wish everyone the best of luck and I am looking forward to being apart of this thread!!

My application status is complete and ready for review... I am so glad they changed my status.I also applied towson and ccbc. I hope UMB can give me information early so I don't have to pay the seat fee. Hope every one have a good snow break!

You're applying for the traditional BSN program, correct? If so, on the online application, there's 2 essays that you HAVE to do, each with a 200 word limit. There's also another optional essay where it asks you to write anything else that you want the committee to know about you (I forgot the exact question though since I already turned it in). So there's 3 essays, but the first 2 are in asterisks which means you have to do them. I hope I answered your question!
