UMSON fall 2016 hopefuls ?

U.S.A. Maryland

Hello all, I am planning to apply to UMSON in the fall 2016. I haven't seen a thread yet for other hopefuls and potential candidates. So I wanted to start one.

Hello all! I am waitlisted for Spring 2016 and it is looking like I won't be pulled off the wait list so I thought I'd join this thread for the fall since I'll be reapplying :)

Oh wow! Did they say why you were wait listed?

Nah, they didn't. I assume because my application wasn't as competitive as other applicants.

I will prob be wait listed as well if I don't get a high teas score I'm supposed to take it by January 15 if I wish to apply to Ccbc as well and I don't feel prepared at all . I'm still coming off mental high from this past semester . I had stats and General chem this fall while working full time .. Surprisingly I did quite well in both very demanding courses .

Hey guys!

I'm also applying for umson shady grove campus! Halfway through the application, I need to revise my essays.

That's great I wish us all luck in the app process . Do you know if they want a 70 on each section of the teas or just a 70 overall ?

I think it's a 70 overall, but I could be wrong.

It also depends on the program itself what Scot they require for acceptance itself. All the nursing programs do not have an overall, general score

The information session I went to in the past stated that TEAS scores should be above the national average to be considered competitive. So above 70 for individual sections and overall. In some cases, the higher the scores the better. But that's not necessarily true because applicants have had average TEAS scores and were still admitted. Other areas of their application were probably very strong. They take into account all areas of your application not just one area, so if you're lacking in one area, like TEAS score, but you have amazing experience, GPAs, and letters of recommendation, the admissions committee will take that into account. I wouldn't look too much into stats though because accepted applicants' stats are across the board.
