UMSON fall 2016 hopefuls ?

Published

Hello all, I am planning to apply to UMSON in the fall 2016. I haven't seen a thread yet for other hopefuls and potential candidates. So I wanted to start one.

Hello everyone! I am a 2nd semester student at the Shady Grove campus. What an exciting and STRESSFUL position you all are in! Finish out the semester strong!

I wanted to let you all know about a school spirit fundraiser UMANS (University of MD Association of Nursing Students) is having. The school store doesn't offer many options for nursing school apparel stuff, so if you are doing UMSON Internet searches like I was when I first applied to this school, feel free to check out the link below! The fundraiser will end APRIL 24th at 11:59PM. Good luck to each and every one of you, and I hope you hear from admissions SOON!!!

I think the interview is just to see your face and confirm your interest for the program. It is about some basic questions about your life ...

Just be yourself and relax everything will be alright.

Also for the interview, I think it is important to be able to articulate why nursing, why the CNL program, why UMB's program...they like to see that you've done your research on the CNL role and opportunities, and of course UMB's program specifically. Good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!!

Hi all, congrats to those who have gotten in. I have my interview this week. Just wondering - did anyone apply to Georgetown's CNL program? Wanted to know peoples' thoughts on Gtown v. UMD.

Still waiting on an interview :/ This feels like a very long wait!

SAME HERE!! the wait is too long. I feel like I won't get in even after an interview because they already sent out acceptances and don't have enough spots left.

Hmm I know CNL and BSN are two separate programs but I wonder if they have any influence on each other when it comes to decisions being released. I'm worried we might be waiting longer than this Friday for decisions :/ Trying to keep positive (and BUSY)!

I still have not even heard about my CNL interview either! I am getting so stressed out with this rolling admissions process :( I emailed Ms Jackson yesterday but haven't yet heard back. I applied by Feb 1st but my materials were only processed by UMD around March 1st and i got the "complete ready for review" status only about 2 weeks ago. For people who are still waiting, when did you guys apply?

Hey emilych I also applied to Gtown but have not yet heard back from them! I emailed them yesterday and they said my application is still under review. However, people from the town thread have been getting in over the past two weeks. So I have no idea what to think.

@shal94 you and I are in the same boat! I'm still waiting to be invited for a interview. My full application wasn't submitted until February 1st because one of my professors didn't submit the reference letter until then. I received my "committee ready" decision March 21st. But I have faith that my interview is coming...

I hope you are right!! Looks like last year they gave interviews all the way up to the end of April so we should be hearing by the end of this week. I also haven't seen any CNL applicant actually not get an interview yet so I'm sure its just a matter of time!

I'm not a CNL applicant, but I find it interesting how last year there was someone who was interviewed and then two days later they got their acceptance. The time it takes to interview applicants and or even notify them of their decision seems to range a lot. Can't imagine having to wait like you all are.

I agree with you Kayrock and Shal94! I also think the time that all our application materials process in also makes a difference in when we hear back. Let us all hang in there guys, we will hear back from them soon!
