UMSON CNL Fall 2019

Published

Are you applying for UMSON CNL Fall 2019 program?

I applied for Fall 2017 and received an acceptance letter with instructions for sending my final transcript. Two days later, I received an email stating acceptance emails were erroneously sent to a large group. Today, I got a rejection email. Who knows, maybe my acceptance email will come in a few days. I am not upset. I don't want to attend a school that has a disorganized admin. Also, I heard classes aren't as organized as they should be.

I'll be going the 2nd degree BSN route. I do like the sound of MSN better though !

Congrats to those accepted.

Hi guys,

I have been following this page because there isn't a page for the program I applied to. This page has been very helpful, and I thought I'd update you guys on my situation.

I applied to the MSN Community/Public Health Nurse program. My application was completed with all the supporting materials on January 27, 2019. Up until last week like many of you, the application status disappeared on SURFS. I called the office on Monday, March 4, 2019 and I was told my application was still being reviewed.

On getting home yesterday, March 6, my acceptance letter was in my mailbox which was dated March 4.

All in all, don't give up. It will happen for you!

Like many of you, I started my nursing career as a second degree nursing student too.

Good luck to everyone that has been accepted! I am praying you hear good news soon if you're still waiting.

Anyone accepted or rejected today?

my status still says ready for review...but I haven't been interviewed...so I'm guessing i'm a no

Hello all! New to this thread but I also applied for the UMSON CNL for Fall 2019. I submitted my application materials by 02/01, and I’m not sure what date exactly it was committee ready (around beginning of March). I received an email today for interview invites, so I am hoping there’s still spots for all of us!

I interviewed over Skype on Monday morning and got an acceptance email/call this morning! They told me 4-6 weeks on Monday, so that was fast. Staying hopeful for everyone. This is my second year applying and I honestly didn’t think I would be any more impressive than last year, but persistence and getting my CNA cert even though I had some solid clinical experience already did the trick! Last year I almost gave up but I didn’t and it paid off, so keep going everyone- it will pay off one way or another

@Alexam wow that's a fast turn around! Congrats!! Does anyone know if there is a Facebook page made yet?

Guys I'm starting to freak out now... i haven't received any emails good or bad besides that my application is ready for review. I have no idea if this is good or bad at this point. My application still says Committee Ready and Ready for Review. I'm getting super nervous.

@crob73 Mine said committe ready up until the second I got accepted! Committe ready could mean they haven’t reviewed your app yet or you’re on the list to be invited for an interview

Hello everyone,

Don't give up, there are more interview invites coming up in March/April. It's not over until we give up. Good luck to everyone who got accepted and sending good vibes to everyone who is waiting to hear back.

Hi guys, I somehow came across this thread while looking into UMSON.

I am currently a junior (health sciences major). I should be graduating spring 2020. I'm starting to get nervous about applying and getting in but I am sure this is what I want to do!

My friend who goes to UMSON and is in the CNL program told me she had a 2.5 science gpa and it seems like from their website that they require a minimum of 3.0 for science.

For those accepted or have a good idea of admissions, what do you think my chances of getting in would be? I am planning on applying do get in for spring 2021 since I heard it is a little easier to get in spring admission (plus I may take a course or 2 after I graduate)

Hopefully by the time I graduate in spring 2020 these should be my stats:

3.3 or 3.4 cumulative GPA

3.0 science GPA

85 or 90% on the TEAS which I think I can do if I study hard.

Over 800 hours working as a Chiropractic Assistant (hoping to get a Medical assistant job this summer)

Over 500 hours volunteering at a hospital

I am planning on receiving a good recommendation letter and hoping to write a strong personal statement/essay.

Please let me know what you think my chances of getting in are or what you would recommend I do to improve my stats!

Also just wanted to say congrats to those who got accepted!
