Hi everyone! I created the BSN Fall 2013 topic, but I couldn't apply at that time due to family issues. So now I'm applying for Spring 2014! Anyone else applying? :]
oh. i thought she was, after i read the following...
Once a student is admitted and has been contacted by the office of admissions on main campus to tell them that, I get the go-ahead to contact the Shady Grove students, welcome them to our campus, and chat about stuff unique to Shady Grove. It is one of my absolute favorite things to do. I cannot say that I am as anxious about the final decisions as our applicants but I can't wait for them to happen either. Best of luck to all of you!
It will be a long time before decisions are made so I have a few suggestions for things to do in the meantime. The time between your notification of acceptance and the first day of school is quite short. Do keep and review your Anatomy & Physiology texts. Take a look at the Accepted Students tab on the School of Nursing website. Although the information is for students who were accepted for fall, it will not change very much for your class. You can start on immunizations, get into the correct CPR class, and just generally get yourself ready for school.
Anyone else get an email that EN 102 isn't accepted? :/ Its not posted anywhere on their website that the only EN 101 and EN 109 from MC would be accepted.
Say whaaaaat? From who and when did you get that email? ARTSYS says EN101, EN102, and EN109 are ALL transferable. The only difference is that EN101 will transfer as a "lower-level elective" It wouldn't be accepted at English II.
Quick Question Grey Lady,
Out of curiosity, do you think we'll hear back sooner than usual since spring semesters typically have less applicants (at least for other schools, not sure about UMSON) and now that they've implemented the 200-word MAX essays?
Also, is age a factor? I'm only 18 years old. Do you think my age will have a negative impact on my application?
Dear Grey Lady,
I took a look at the accepted students section on the UMSON website and have two questions:
1) Do the CPR cards have to be from AHA or Red Cross or can we take a course at a community college?
2) It also states, "Certification must be completed within three months prior to the semester you are entering." I was wondering if we don't get our certification completed by at least October (since school starts in January) would our acceptance be revoked?
Thank you!
Schang03.
I called admissions regarding the CPR class it MUST be either an American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider or American Red cross CPR/AED Professional Rescuer class. Only these two are accepted, my CPR class that I was going to take at my community college didn't have the correct certification.
Here is a link to find an American Heart Assoc. Class
Class Connector Search Home- American Heart Association
And here is the one for the Red Cross class
EMT & First Responder Training Courses | BLS & First Aid/CPR | Red Cross
A lot of courses are $75 or so and can be completed in one day (Much less expensive/time consuming than the $350 and 6 weeks the CC wanted!) I am taking mine at the end of october and taking the first aid class right after it too, because, why not?

I got an email from UMSON saying that EN 102 wouldn't fulfill the English requirement and only EN 109 would. How can they tell me this now? That class isn't offered over the winter! They said if I get accepted that I have to take that class before Spring semester starts (
