the best school depends on your personal preference. the best school for me is bjc because they offer evenings. i don't think there are any "bad" schools in stl with the exception of chamberlain. however, that's my personal opinion. if you just search on here, you can find quite a few posts on chamberlains program.

BJC has a night program? that would be perfect! What are the prereq to get in the program? What have you heard about chamberlain?

OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Yay! I knew you would! I have a classmate (who also happens to be male) in one of my classes who told me he got his letter yesterday also...and he got in...so you won't be the only guy! haha. Cool, hopefully we will run into each other even though I start three months before you! How exciting! It makes me happy knowing there are others on here who will be going to UMSL this upcoming summer/fall!! :) Yay!!!! Anyone on here have facebook?? PM me if you do!!! :yeah::rolleyes::D:up:

I'm sorry if this is coming across as being aggressive, it is not meant to be, but I find it rather irritating that you have so many bad things to say about Chamberlain. I really feel the need to address it directly this time. From what I have gathered, you do not have much experience with the school, let alone the On Campus BSN program. You do understand that the ASN online program is seperate from the On Campus program right? It appears to be rather a tort than good advice. That being said, in my personal opinion, maybe it is better to leave the advice/opinions toward the school up to students that have actually experienced the educational experience?

Please try to understand where I am coming from various perspectives. 1)As a student I don't appreciate the slander, when I work very hard to earn my education. 2) You probably know first hand that getting into a nursing school is a challenge, why potentially limit people's options by offering an empty opinion?

I appreciate your understanding in advance and will respect any feedback.

I'd like to suggest that we stick to the original subject of this thread, which is regarding UMSL students. No need to hijack the OP's original thread, which is to meet future classmates and discuss UMSL.

Becca,

I have interest in going into an ICU type position after graduation and was wondering if you had any insight into how I can make this happen. I've heard it can be difficult to get an ICU job right out of school but at the same time I've seen people do it. Do you have any words of wisdom for me? Thanks for any suggestions and how is So Cal treating you?

I am starting the Traditional BSN program at UMSL. To take a load off my first semester, I am taking Patho this summer. Anyone else?!?

Are you taking Pathophysiology at UMSL?? Because for the Accelerated program, (which starts tomorrow!! ahhh crazy!) we are taking that this summer along with Assessment, Fundamentals of Nursing, and Health Informatics. If you are taking it at UMSL, what day are you taking it?? Everyone in the accelerated is taking it on Thursdays from 1230-4. Congrats on getting in for the fall!!! :)

Yes, I'm taking it at UMSL. But since I'm in the traditional program, my class is held on Tuesdays 9am-Noon. Thanks, congrats to you too!

Ohhh that explains why they offered it on Tuesdays! Another girl and I were wondering why they offered it on two different days this summer since we're all in it on Thursday...THAT explains it haha! Well good luck in your class!!! Have you guys had your orientation yet?
