  1. PVT was accurate for me. I sat for the NCLEX on Thurs and got the good pop up less than two hours after my appt time. Found out this am I passed with 75 questions!!!!:nurse::nurse:
  2. I just graduated with my BSN. I'm stuck as to which job to take. Do i stay at the small, subacute LTC hospital that I've worked at during nursing school? I LOVE the staff and what they do for the kids. The schedule is 5 8hr shifts per week rotating. I dont feel I will be challenged here or be able to fully developed my skills? Or do I venture into the unknown, and take a position in the PICU at the best children's hospital in the city. This position will be 2/3 nights, and I'm NOT a night person. The pay is $2.25 more per hour than the smaller place. The orientation for the PICU will be 12 weeks, but the turnover rate for new grads is pretty high. I did talk to a nurse who started there as a new grad, and she really praised their orientation process. I also have a 3 year old daughter who will be starting preschool in the fall, and I want to be able to take her to and from. So I'm thinking that the night position will be good for that. I'm lost, any advice is welcome. Thanks!
  3. Hey FriendlyGhost, Who is your Nursing 3101 instructor???
  4. THANK YOU Jenlanna!!! I feel the same way. Don't knock Obama for getting down on our level. Of course he didn't deal with the grimes of the profession but at least he showed interest. That's something that can't be said of everybody. And who cares who did what first: they're not teenagers!:angryfire
  5. Friendly Ghost, How did you do on that first Patho exam? I was so nervous and I over-studied. But it was a piece of cake, I got a 100%! I'm afraid to get too comfortable as I have a feeling that Chris will make the next ones a bit harder:no:
  6. A story very similar to that was on Discovery Health's tv show "Mystery Diagnosis."
  7. When she says she has been in NS for a minute, that doesn't mean literally one minute. That means a while, be it two or three semesters.
  8. It absolutely helps. Thanks so much and Good luck with everything!
  9. Our orientation isn't until August 15th--the Friday before the start of the Fall semester. Did they give you all a "supply list?" Like what all is needed before the classes start. I don't wanna be stressed about getting everything because I only have 2 days after the orientation before school starts!
  10. Yes, I'm taking it at UMSL. But since I'm in the traditional program, my class is held on Tuesdays 9am-Noon. Thanks, congrats to you too!
  11. I am starting the Traditional BSN program at UMSL. To take a load off my first semester, I am taking Patho this summer. Anyone else?!?
  12. We had a survey at our job too. I stayed away from specifics because its easy to figure out who I am. I'm one of three unit secretaries and the only one that works on the weekends. So I couldn't express any concerns about the weekends because it would be a dead give-away. Our survey was administered by an "outside" party but they ask questions that can be used to identify you like position, FTE, hire date, which administrator do you report to, etc.
