Hello all. Who is applying to the schools listed in the title? Which is your 1st and last pick. I applied to all the schools and am strongly considering UMDNJ Fall 08. :)

What do they tell you a CNL does?

It was very vauge. I had to read these boards to figure out what the degree was and if it was something I wanted. I accepted the offer :)

Clinical Nurse Leader = administration/management

Clinical Nurse Leader = administration/management

Actually, if you look at the literature, the CNL is specifically not intended to be an administrative/mangerial person. The people that are pushing this idea claim that the point is to be a clinical expert, in hands-on, bedside nursing.

Has anyone who applied to UMDNJ fall 2008 accelerated nursing gotten a rejection or acceptance letter yet. I applied 3 motnhs ago but the only thing I have gotten so far is a postcard last week. It said that I was missing a reference letter and my transcript. How long do schools usally take to send out letters?

I got one of those postcards in like late April telling me I had to finish pre-reqs which I am enrolled in. Good Luck! Hope you hear something soon- the waiting is the worst.

In response to Descartes below.....I understand about chaos/disorganization on a real live nursing unit, and no problem with that. But respectfully disagree that nursing SCHOOL itself needs to be like that. UMD hasn't adapted to the fact that students in its program have previous REAL LIFE PAID work experience, and are less likely to "tolerate" their administrative screw-ups and disorganization. Just need to express my feelings on the matter, and thanks for letting me do so.

I completely agree that nursing school (UMDNJ) should not be as crazy as it is. I'm an UMSNJ alumnus and currently a MSN student and am still a victim of the disorganization. In my previous post regarding this topic, I was passing on advice and personal experience to prepare my cohorts for what's to come.

I forgot to include that I was hoping to bring a positive light in all this disorganization and stress that it can serve a purpose for our future careers.

Has anyonw who applied to the UMDNJ accelerated nursing for fall 2008 gotten an acceptance/rejection letter yet? I have been waiting 4 months to hear thier decision.

Hi belle,

I PMed you before, but all of the sudden I can't any longer-- any chance you could PM me? I'm making my decision any day now, so I'd love to get your perspective on those last few questions! Thanks!

Hello all,

I got my acceptance letter into UMDNJ this past Sat.

Sadly, I will be rejecting them to attend FDU.

Let me know if you have any questions
