UMDNJ Accelerated BSN Program

U.S.A. New Jersey

Hi everyone! Is there anyone who can provide information on the accelerated BSN program at UMDNJ? I would like to know how durable is the program- the good, the bad and the ugly. What GPA is required for admission and how soon does one have to apply? Thanks- any info would be appreciated:chuckle

Hi there. Glad you are doing nursing. I will see you then at UMDNJ in Dec? 60 students were accepted this semester.

I barely studied for the TEAS, since I learned that your stay in the program isn't contingent on if you did well or not on the TEAS. I just brushed up on the Math section.

I have already taken it and didn't do too bad. Especially since I had version 5 review book and UMDNJ uses TEAS 4. However I don't know what is considered "good" or "bad."

Reading and English was the easiest of the 4 sections. Brush up on your basic math and science.

ya, will see u in the orientation...When did you take Teas last time?

ya, the fact that the score will not be counted against us as for being in the program makes me feel better too.

Thanks.

I took it this Tuesday because I'm participating in UMDNJ's NALC Program. NALC (Nursing as an Additional Language & Cultural Program) runs until Dec. 21st. So we don't need to be there on the 1st.

Great that you are done with it.

See you on the 2nd Dec.

Thanks.

Does that mean that aren't accepting anymore students?

You haven't heard anything? If you haven't gotten a rejection letter that is usually a good thing. But this happened to me for last semester when I applied for the Fall. Call them like crazy (if you have to) about your status. If the class is in fact full, they'll most likely defer you to the Summer semester, but find out. Don't send an email, call.

To those attending UMDNJ in the spring: enjoy your last month of freedom, the program is hell. Our motto here as students to future students, "you must hate yourself"

Ehh...I've heard mixed reviews. I'm used to studying 8+ hours for exams and doing tons of work during the week for classes, nothing new for me.

Funny thing is this, here you wont have 8 hours a day to study :) time management is what matters the most

I should have been more clear----8 hours each day on weekends.

Are people still receiving letters of acceptance / rejection? They received my last letter of recommendation back in October and I still haven't heard anything. I've tried calling and all the people in the office will tell me is that "there is still another application review session but we can't tell you when it is." I was hoping to have an answer in order to sign up for some more classes for pre-reqs in case I get rejected but many schools' registration period is already coming to a close.

I called on Friday, and they told me they were reviewing my stuff as we speak, and I should hear back within a few days.

So I'm thinking the committee must have met last friday, the 19th.

They were reviewing one of my chem classes, I hope it wasn't a problem.
