Hi everyone! Is there anyone who can provide information on the Accelerated BSN program at UMDNJ? I would like to know how durable is the program- the good, the bad and the ugly. What GPA is required for admission and how soon does one have to apply? Thanks- any info would be appreciated:chuckle
I just received my letter regarding orientation...and Day 1 is the TEAS and writing examDay 2 is the actual day we meet people within our departments...
I received mine too yesterday and says the same thing. It's a good thing I had already bought the TEAS review book. It says in the letter that it's just like a "self-evaluation" on areas that you need to work on. So, I think pressure isn't going to be bad. Lynn, correct me if I'm wrong about this.
Will you be participating in NALC? From the info we've received, I think participating in the program will be beneficial.
I've never taken it. I only got the review book because the TEAS was required for Muhlenberg's NS, however when I got accepted to UMDNJ, I ended that application process and didn't bother taking the test, which was scheduled for Oct 17th. In fact I was going to sell my review book, but never got the chance. Good thing. When I got the letter about taking the TEAS, as you can image my heart dropped.
However, when I reread the letter we received, and saw that the tests are "reviewed to offer students opportunities to remediate identified areas of weakness," I interpreted it to mean it's not a pass or fail as far as being in the program. We've already been accepted. I'm going to call them tomorrow to get clarification.
I'm going to purchase my book tonight...hopefully I get it soon so I can start reviewing. I definitely plan to call tomorrow as well to get clarification. I read under a TEAS thread that one student who had been accepted to a program was told that her spot was given to someone else after she failed the exam 2. It didn't say what school she went to, but it's definitely worth asking just in case...
Paul: I just spoke with someone today regarding the TEAS. She informed me that your results aren't contingent on you staying in the program. It's required as a self-evaluation and to highlight any areas of weakness you may need to work on. If for some reason you flunk it badly, they don't kick you out, they'll just provide you with tutoring. Hope that eases your mind.
yeah...I called this morning and they said the same thing. Now I'm just waiting for the book to arrive so I can start studying!... See you all there! Best of luck studying...
BTW I was wondering did you order the full version of the TEAS book with online practice exam or only the study guide? Also I saw a few additions online...just wondering which one you have.
