UMB Spring 2012

Published

Hello! I am in the process of applying for the spring 2012 semester at the Baltimore campus!! I didn't see any threads out there yet for people who are applying so I figured I'd start one :) Feel free to share gpa, TEAS scores, etc and any updates on admission!! GOOD luck to everyone!

The three things that take the longest to get done are 1 - get into a CPR class and make sure it is the right one - only two kinds of CPR cards are accepted 2 - Start getting immunizations done - you will need two, yes TWO PPD skin tests for TB done in the last 12 months and at least one week apart 3 - order your nametag with the UMB Book store - it takes weeks to have them made somewhere out of state. Read everything on the Accepted Students tab on the UM School of Nursing website. It's a lot but you will manage.

@Grey Lady- Can we order the name tag online or must we physically go into the bookstore?

You can order your nametag online or by calling the bookstore.

Did anyone get a phone call or status change today?

MSN applicant here..

haven't seen an update yet.. :-(

Just thought you would want to know I am a MSN applicant also and no status change here either

Hi everyone.

Congratulations to you guys all who got accepted!!

I have been on the waitlist since the fall 2011 admission.

My status still says "committee ready."

I have not got any call from admission office, so I guess I am not in again...

I am not in the U.S, so I feel like I am left out!

I am extremely disappointed....

For those who got accepted to the Baltimore campus: are any of you planning on moving to the city?

I think I'm going to plan on commuting for at least the first semester. Does anyone know what parking is like on a daily basis? and where is the best place to park?

I read online that you can get a parking permit from the school. Other than that, I haven't looked into it yet. There are so many questions that I have now!! I can't wait to get the official acceptance letter and the info with it. Hopefully it will answer a lot of my questions.

My good friend went to UMB's school of PT. I just emailed her asking her about parking. I'll let ya know what she said.

How many of you are from out of state? I live 25 min from the city, so I'll just be commuting.

I am from out of state but I'm hoping to get housing through the school. Anyone have any idea how that works? I called the office of undergrad admissions a few times and left a message but haven't heard back yet.

I am in-state (about 40 minutes away) but I plan on moving to the city. I know there are two apartment complexes you can live in through the university. My friend lived in one last year and they are really nice, but hers was a little pricey.

I'm looking into renting a townhouse since it's cheaper. I am probably going to get a 4-bedroom with two current nursing students, so if anyone is planning on moving to Baltimore and is interested in a townhouse, let me know!
