After following the Fall '09 thread with great interest, I thought it might be time to start a new thread for the Spring '10 applicants since we're inching closer to the Sep 1 deadline. I have a technical question for those who have applied before. I submitted my CNL application online this morning and paid the $50 and now it seems like my application has slipped into a vortex that I don't have access to. When I log onto SURFS to check my status, the only option that it gives me is to submit a new application. Is there somewhere else on the website that I should be looking to confirm that my application has been submitted and is pending review or awaiting additional information (transcripts, recommendations, etc)? Perhaps there is a delay between when the application is submitted and when the status is visible?
Best of luck to all the other applicants...now the agonizing waiting game begins! Looking forward to giving each other support and encouragement on this thread.
Thanks so much BSNbear, i'ld start doing all those after finals. you said the waitlist can go up to the first day of class???... that would be too much comotion for the accepted applicant. especially when you applied to the baltimore campus with no housing....i hope i hear something before winter break. THANKS SO MUCH ONCE AGAIN!
Hey, yeah my status says the same but it doesn't mean anything. I called last Thurs when it changed and they said it just means they entered us in as being on the wait list. We're not going to hear anything until mid-week through January! Errr this sucks....SO BAD
My status is the same and that is what they told me when I got my call.
Did you get your letter? I got a letter saying I was on the wait list and that I will be contacted by phone, e-mail and U.S. mail if a spot opens up. The letter also said if a spot does not open up my application would be automatically considered for fall 2010.
I really hope I get in! I am already in another school (CCBC-Catonsville) and I will not be putting off admission until fall.
Does anyone know what numbers are? What kind of chances do we have of getting in? I am going to give UMB a call to find out if I should just go ahead and submit my transcripts anyway.
I got the letter. I seriously have no idea if the wait list is 15, 10, or 40. Don't know if we're assigned a number or reevaluated. They won't tell you if you call either. No idea how the process works. I'd just send your transcripts in. But try calling--maybe you'll get something out of them and can let us know! I FREAKED out when I first read my status change last week it was torture, why couldn't it just say wait listed?!??! I mean come on!
Luckily they haven't called anyone on the wait list yet so we all have a solid shot. I think they wait until they know how many spaces they have from people attending other schools and then they turn to the wait list, I would assume this week. Definitely, definitely have your transcripts sent in and let us know here or PM what they say if you give them a call.
I just wish we knew what the chances were ya know? I'll have to wait for fall, I just graduated from UMCP and I turned down two other programs... aw man.

minds12 and umbismylife...I was waitlisted for shady grove in last go round (fall'09)- accepted this time. This is only my opinion but I highly recommend getting immunizations done. I also see worth in having your doctor fill out the sheet that can be downloaded online (see page 2):

this is not too much a factor for some of them, but you will have to have your Hep B's done at some point if you don't already (i am "more experienced" i.e. old, so i hadn't gotten Hep B), Hep B requires 3 vaccinations spread across a minimum of 7 months. the TB test has to be completed 2x's in year prior to your start of school, so that is another one that is worth knocking out regardless of when you are admitted. CPR is always worthwhile repeating, and because the waitlist can be determined right up til 1st day of classes, I see worth in having it done rather than scrambling for a weekend class last minute.
so is it worth it? i think so, but make the doctor appointments and schedule CPR for after your exams, and focus on school for the next two weeks. good luck with waitlisting - it is nerve-racking, but don't be discouraged!!
