After following the Fall '09 thread with great interest, I thought it might be time to start a new thread for the Spring '10 applicants since we're inching closer to the Sep 1 deadline. I have a technical question for those who have applied before. I submitted my CNL application online this morning and paid the $50 and now it seems like my application has slipped into a vortex that I don't have access to. When I log onto SURFS to check my status, the only option that it gives me is to submit a new application. Is there somewhere else on the website that I should be looking to confirm that my application has been submitted and is pending review or awaiting additional information (transcripts, recommendations, etc)? Perhaps there is a delay between when the application is submitted and when the status is visible?
Best of luck to all the other applicants...now the agonizing waiting game begins! Looking forward to giving each other support and encouragement on this thread.
That's a great idea. I would start it but don't know how. I just joined about 2 days ago after getting encouraged from reading the posts...which all have been very helpful. I will certainly hope someone can start a new thread.
By the way, thanks again Lunnaedon. I've been searching where I could find info on clinicals. What do you think MsGreylady, do you think it's necessary to have a car for clinicals in Baltimore? I've never been to Baltimore and will just jump right in...still have finals to think of, and packing/moving, and everything else as outlined on the admission requirement...whew!! lots of work to do.
I have a quick question...did any of your packets say when your deposit/decision to accept the offer was do? I'm just curious. I got a call from the admissions counselor saying that I am indeed on a waitlist. I was wondering why my status would not change! I don't think it's a very long waitlist so even though it doesn't mean a yes or a no, I applied late so I'm actually really happy about it. Anyway, knowing when the deadline for accepting offers would help me figure out how long I'll be in limbo. It might not work out but I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. Ughh I just want to know
Thanks for your help if you happen to know!
minds12!...we are in thesame shoes!!!....i call UMB everyday of my life, wanting to know why my status has not changed. so!...i eventually got a call today saying that i have been WAIT LISTED! better than been rejected...i am just trying to think possitive here. so mhinds12, we are in this together...you are not alone. I pray to GOD that we both get accepted.
this is for anybody with an opinion as to what to do......so regardless of what our status says do you think we should still go for our cpr card and immunizations...so we dont have too much to juggle when we do get accepted *fingers crossed, hopes high*...thanks for your future input!

I am not totally familiar with the Baltimore clinical sites (except UMMS, of course) but do know that not all of them are served by public transportation. Even if they are, sometimes clinicals start as early as 6 am. If you don't have access to a car you will have to rely on car pooling with classmates. I am sure that can be done but surviving it might be a question of your tolerance for anxiety. Hopefully, someone else will post.
Thanks Em. going there.....
