After following the Fall '09 thread with great interest, I thought it might be time to start a new thread for the Spring '10 applicants since we're inching closer to the Sep 1 deadline. I have a technical question for those who have applied before. I submitted my CNL application online this morning and paid the $50 and now it seems like my application has slipped into a vortex that I don't have access to. When I log onto SURFS to check my status, the only option that it gives me is to submit a new application. Is there somewhere else on the website that I should be looking to confirm that my application has been submitted and is pending review or awaiting additional information (transcripts, recommendations, etc)? Perhaps there is a delay between when the application is submitted and when the status is visible?
Best of luck to all the other applicants...now the agonizing waiting game begins! Looking forward to giving each other support and encouragement on this thread.
Grey Lady, thank you for ALLLLLL of your input. and others - thanks for asking the questions i had and hadn't thought of yet.
bunch of questions...anyone: if i am being redundant from previous posts feel free to just direct me to another part of thread
Grey_lady, a few questions for you and/or current students who might be checking in occassionally. 1) in an attempt to be financially savvy...are we pretty safe to assume that the VERY user friendly online bookstore has up to date and accurate book lists. before i go searching for a great deal on a book I want to be sure I won't have to look to make returns. 2) does the book store at shady grove campus carry all course materials and uniform needs? or will there be occasional needs for trips to B'more 3) any current students out there have any thoughts on "recommended materials" for your courses 304/315/320/333 we have had folks comment on preparatory materials like med-calc review, but wondering more about class specific recommendations 4) thoughts on uniforms - start by buying two tops and rotating wearing a shirt under each day? 5) sorry to ask - but how serious is the white shoe thing (i.e. are small insignias in other color okay or totally taboo) - might sound bit simplistic, but my feet are important and i want to be comfy while adhering to the rules:specs:
Thanks for the posts and questions. I'm new on this site and I found the discussions very informative. I also got in for Spring admission, but I'm now considering of requesting for a deferral for the Fall. I have never been to Baltimore though I've lived in Maryland years and years ago. I'm moving from California and am having cold feet since the admission offer came quite late and now I'm rushing to get everything done on top of my prereqs finals. Does anyone know how lenient the admissions office is should I request to defer my enrollment till August? Also, is there anyone else moving from California to Maryland during winter or anyone who came from California but now living in Maryland? Thanks for any input you may have. I'm a little bit worried.

I know on one of the forms it asked if you wanted to be deffered. I would call the admissions office though to straighten it out.
It is hectic, im scrambling to find housing/roomate and the textbooks. It will be worth it in the end! good luck
Im waiting to register. I sent in my acceptance? form yesterday so ihope it gets there today. then i can register online. It took a while to figure that out, i thought that once you had pre-registered you could.
and yeah i was sent between admissions and registration 3 times, i hung up and called later.
I just called the Help Line for Surfs and the gentlemen just told me that I wasn't in the system just yet. I sent in my acceptance letter Friday when I got my packet. He told me that it take awhile for the information to get into the computer and we should have access to Surfs at least by the time school starts.
Don't worry everyone. You can still register for your classes. If you read through the packet and pull out the paper for registation information, you have two more options. You can mail in a registration form with the classes you want to take or fill one out electronically (Grey Lady please correct me if I am wrong). I found this under Student Resources -> Student Services -> Student Forms -> Registration Forms should be there. I hope this helps.
