After following the Fall '09 thread with great interest, I thought it might be time to start a new thread for the Spring '10 applicants since we're inching closer to the Sep 1 deadline. I have a technical question for those who have applied before. I submitted my CNL application online this morning and paid the $50 and now it seems like my application has slipped into a vortex that I don't have access to. When I log onto SURFS to check my status, the only option that it gives me is to submit a new application. Is there somewhere else on the website that I should be looking to confirm that my application has been submitted and is pending review or awaiting additional information (transcripts, recommendations, etc)? Perhaps there is a delay between when the application is submitted and when the status is visible?
Best of luck to all the other applicants...now the agonizing waiting game begins! Looking forward to giving each other support and encouragement on this thread.
we have to register online before we register for classes. where is that link?
I cannot access the umb login or pin from surfs. were we given one? i typed in my info but its not turning up. i guess ill have to call tomorrow.
grey lady- before we can do all this we have to send in the form that we will be attending? on the form it asks for myumb id# i have no idea what it is.
the pin and name to see our application is completely different from all thsi right?
yeah im trying to register right now, i was just asking about the classes for future reference. but i got the registration form from
http://nursing.umaryland.edu/student-resources/student-services/student-forms
im trying to turn it via email, however, it was asking for a umb email address and i didnt have one.
thanks!!!
gonna do all this tommorrow. i need to ask about nurse405. there arent times i want to take it online too since my friend told me the class was deathly boring and no one understood what was going on at all. id rather read the notes and do the online discussion from the comfort of my room.
ugh this surfs thing is really frustrating.
also i just gave an alternative email. I dont have anything id/password/email related to umb. except to see the application and im pretty sure thats different
now that i think of it, i dont remember seeing in the packet a place to pick the location we wanted. did i just miss it?
i was wondering, since I am trying to register online, if we should already be given a umb email address, because it asks for one on the registration form and I dont have one yet or at least I dont think so. and when I was looking at the class schedule, it seems as if theres 2 classes labeled nurs304 (communications module and intro to nurse prof) would we sign up for both? and you already mentioned this, but all the classes mentioned in our packet, will those be the only ones we should register for (304, 315, 333, 405)?
Did you get the class list you should register for in your packet? If so, that's a problem because the curriculum changed starting this spring. First semester classes are 304, 315, 333 and 320, not 405. You only register for the lecture part of 304, the Communications Module you are assigned to - it is only a four week extra class that is part of 304. I don't think it always starts the very first week of school.
Make sure you review your packet carefully as it should give you instructions about your school email account. If it is not there it will be coming. In the meantime you can use your current email address on the registration form.
I don't have a copy of the new admits packet yet but hope to soon so I will be more sure about my answers. It's kind of hard without having seen it - maybe some things have changed that I don't know about.

thank you grey lady. yeah in the packet it said 405, but i guess well find out soon enough what we can register for and what not. for now i will take your advice and use my current email address and put 320. where would be without you, grey lady?
i sent in the email, hopefully i will be able to really register too.as for the 320, it says its not available for baltimore spring student. only for shady grove. just thought i would bring it up, i was freaking out
Hey! No freaking out allowed! We have plenty of time to get things straightened out. Class sections starting with SG are reserved for Shady Grove students, and classes with section numbers that are just two digits are for Baltimore students. For N320, you need to look for sections 02 and 04 which are for spring 2010 students - fall 2009 students are restricted from these sections. Chill, everyone, no worries.
