UMass Memorial Residency (Worcester)

I applied and just received a call for interview at UMass Memorial for their New Grad Residency Program. Has anyone been through this residency program? And if so, can you offer any particulars (both positive and/or negative). I've searched through the allnurses site and was only able to find much older forums from '10-'12.

I heard it is a conference interview but that is all that I have heard. When is yours?

I attended the interview 2 days ago.The interview lasts approximately 30mins and in conducted by 4 people. Interview questions include why umass, why you chose nursing, any challenging incident in your previous work, short term goals, long term goals, differences between CNA and RN work, what contribution you will make to Umass community, skills you are bringing to Umass, and many other i cant recall.

applications were betweenNov 17 and Dec 15 2017. You might have to wait for the next

Thank you for that insight that is very helpful. I hope your interview went well. Did they ask many situational questions? Also, did they happen to elaborate on what specialties/units they are offering? I heard just med surg.

I was emailed about the residency by a recruiter at UMass. I had applied to previous positions and it was in response to that.

I cant exactly remember about situational questions but most of the questions were ordinary. No mention of specialties but they did talk of a second interview with managers if you get through the first interview. Will update accordingly

i no longer have the sheet but the timeline was something like this:

first round of interviews started last week and everyone should hear by the 26th or 29th

second interviews (with managers) will be first or second week of february.

and then i believe it doesn't start until sometime in march. (kind of a long time to wait if you ask me!)
