umass boston nursing fall 2015

Hello everyone! I have applied to Umass boston nursing school last month . Now everything is completed except I need to take the teas V exam (which I am taking next week) and I would also like to know if anyone out there took the teas at Umass boston and also if you applied for fall 2015 since the deadline was december 1.

@jaekaydee ohhh okay that makes sense. Thanks that's really helpful. I went on transferology and there were stars next to the course so I'm guessing it's for the reason of needing dev 1 & 2. I really hope that isn't the case because I've taken lifespan psych. The umb site says that it needs to cover lifespan and necc offers lifespan and dev 1 and 2 but hopefully just my lifespan course will count for something. I also haven't done intro to chem or bio, but have taken physiochem and human bio. Ugh I'll try and talk to someone Monday about it because my courses are all over the place. Anyways, thanks again I appreciate it!

@danieljof do you mind letting me know what they say when you call? I am trying to make sense of which lifespan course I can take to satisfy the requirements also it sounds like the bio and chem courses you took should be accepted

@Jaekaydee haha absolutely! I think that it's only one course for the lifespan (I hope). The handbook says it's a 3 credit "lifespan" course and must cover the entire lifespan. I know my lifespan course covered the whole life cycle but who knows and yeah I think you're right. I'm unsure about bio but it says any 4 credit chem w/ lab course will suffice and they do have a physiochem course. So, I'll call them Monday morning and let you know what they say! :)

@BosBSNhopeful I wouldn't be worried if I were you. They mail out decisions through March too, plus I'm sure this is a busy time for them as the admissions deadlines just recently passed or are about to. Stay positive! :)

I'm planning to apply for the next cohort (fall 2016 entry), so I hope you guys don't mind if I ask some questions! The website seems to be inconsistent and I can't get a response from admissions. Does anybody know if your science GPA is calculated from only some or is it all of your science pre-reqs? Also, it says you don't have to have all of your pre-reqs completed.. Did everybody have most of theirs done when they applied? I'll have everything done except A&P II when I apply.

I have applied for Umass Boston's nursing program for fall 2015. Only I applied by the intercollege application and the deadline was February first. I wanted to know if anyone else has applied that way and has received an email or anything? I have been reading the other posts and am wondering how do I check my online status? Thanks everyone

@emilynicholson, I too applied as an intercollege transfer! I received an email sometime last week saying they would send out notices on March 6. They pushed it back a bit because of all the closures due to the snowpocalypse we were having. Have you heard anything else? I'm sooo nervous! I heard it was harder to get accepted if you applied as an intercollege transfer!

Hey! I received that email as well, can these days go by any slower.. lol I have not heard anything else. That's what I have heard too, that it's harder to get accepted when applying as an intercollege transfer.. but hopefully we can beat the odds! Lets keep each other updated!

Omg I know!!! The anxiety is killing me! We should definitely keep each other posted. If you don't mind me asking, what are you stats?

Mine aren't that great, 3.3 gpa, 76% TEAS score, although I scored somewhere in 80s (I dont quite remember)on the science portion. Science gpa is a 4.0, but that's only because I've only taken one science course, but Im pretty good at science. Anyway, I'm just nervous because my stats aren't so great yet =/

They sound great to me! How many semesters have you done? This is my 4th semester, I have somewhere around a 3.6 gpa, 69 Teas score (this test hates me lol), and I don't know my science gpa, but it is definitely 3.2 or higher.
