umass boston nursing fall 2015

U.S.A. Massachusetts

Hello everyone! I have applied to Umass boston nursing school last month . Now everything is completed except I need to take the teas V exam (which I am taking next week) and I would also like to know if anyone out there took the teas at Umass boston and also if you applied for fall 2015 since the deadline was december 1.

Just wanted to clarify -- do you mean that they let people know if they're in the "nursing pool", or are they actually sending out decisions? My status has said "complete" for a few weeks now, but there have been no other changes since December 15th or so.

I've got a spotty academic history (lots of withdrawals and some poor grades). But I had an undiagnosed chronic illness which is now better, and they're aware of the situation -- so I'm hoping that they give me a chance! I got a 96 on the TEAS and my last semester GPA was a 4.0 (first time back in school since diagnosis), but my overall average GPA is barely a 3.0. :(

I guess now it's just wait-and-see!

I just recieved my acceptance letter in the mail today from umass Boston nursing Fall semester.

Just so you guys know I graduated umass amherst with a degree in communications. Had an overall 3.0 gpa and scored an 89 on the teas science section. I forget my overall score as an admissions councilor informed me that the science section is the most critical.

If anybody reading this still has to take the teas I recommend using khan academy and going through biology, anatomy, and chemistry. Very useful studying tool.

Good luck all.

Hi everyone!

I received my acceptance letter on Friday, Jan 16 and it was dated 1-14. Just as an FYI, my online application status check did not change to a decision has been made, etc.. (it still says complete) like in previous posts I have read so keep checking the mailbox! This will be my first degree and I am transferring from mcc. Good luck everyone!

Hey everyone! Was just accepted as a transfer from northern essex, waiting to hear back from a few other schools but I'm pretty set on going to umb. Also, I don't know why the admissions status was never updated but I received a letter in the mail and my status online still hasn't changed, just saying if anyone's checking their status religiously like I was, it should be coming in the mail by the end of January.

Hello Everyone!

I received my acceptance letter yesterday! Very excited to be starting in the fall! Wishing everyone the best of luck :)

Hello everyone!

I just came home from a weekend in New Hampshire. I had some mail and got the acceptance letter!! It was dated January 14. For those still waiting, there was never a status change online, it always just said "complete". I'm happy a lot of us got in!! Congrats!

Hey I know this isn't the right thread to post this in but I don't see many for Umass Boston so I figured I'd post it here. Does anyone know if all of the prerequisites need to be completed before starting the first semester at Umb? I have all of them done from Northern Essex other than gen chem, gen bio, and dev psych (that's if they don't let my lifespan psych credits transfer) I was thinking that the first year at umb (sophomore year) would be mostly gen ed classes and any left over prereqs needed, while the junior year would be the core nursing classes, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows for certain. Any info helps, thanks!

Hi Dan

This link should help answer your question.

Prerequisites - University of Massachusetts Boston

Congrats to all of those that have been accepted! I just got back from Japan and happened to find my acceptance packet stuffed in my mailbox. I cannot wait to meet you all this upcoming fall!

Hi Jdeware how are you congrats on your acceptance. I also got accepted and looking to meet some nursing students to hang with because i don't know anyone at the school....did you get your book already?

Hey thanks jaekaydee! I did see that but I'm not sure if they mean for every prerequisite to be taken. I should be getting my transfer credit info soon and worst case scenario I'll just have to take a couple classes this summer. Anyways thanks for posting that! :) Also, congrats to everyone so far! Look forward to meeting you in the fall!

@danieljof sorry i misread your question the first time around! umb's website does have the curriculum posted and it looks like the nursing courses start in the second semester of sophmore year, so hopefully we can start at that point. Not sure if you have heard of it but transferology lets you see if courses will transfer to umb, I still need developmental psych ( I had to drop mine after realizing it wouldn't transfer) Northern essex will transfer but it looks like it has to be both dev I and dev II courses.
