Wondering who else has applied for the Fall 2021 start date for the ABSN program at UMASS Boston. Also looking for insight into this program from current students. Thanks!
@ashleyowen & @Kelsanne I am also living north of Boston and plan just to drive in when necessary. I moved in with my dad recently to start and save and preparation for nursing school and plan to stay with him here (in Methuen) through school. I am not sure where everyone else is living, but it would be definitely good to get together for in person events and studying since he program is mainly online. I am also 28 and completely changing careers, not sure if anyone else is around my age or if most people are coming from undergraduate, I assume it's a mix.
FYI, the Littman Classic iii stethoscope is 20% off for Prime members for Amazon Prime Day. I got it for $30 cheaper than the McGill website.
@Nel Petti I'm in JP, so we're super close!
@nurse_kz Im also changing careers. Im assuming that won't be rare, but it'll be interesting to find out.

Oh yay! That’s exciting! What career are you switching from? I have a masters in public health and have been in the field for about 10 years since graduating from college. I want to get some clinical experience so I can leverage both nursing and public health to make the most impact possible.
Good call on the stethoscope!
@ashleyowen I got my Welcome Packet from Katharine Middleton on June 8th. I'd email her at [email protected]
@Nel Petti I've been just been working as a university staff for the last while. My bachelors was a setup to get a masters in global health, but various life things happened instead.
@CLG4 @Ursenay Obetay yeah I reached out Kate just got back to me with the welcome email! Whew, I am glad I didn't wait any longer. Thanks for the feedback.
Yes, let's do a facebook group!

Hi all! I was accepted into the fall 2021 cohort and I’m really excited!!
I’ve lived in Boston (in the city proper) since I moved here for college so happy answer questions. I currently live in Hyde Park, the southern most Boston neighborhood.
Also based on info I’ve gotten from the school, it looks like clinicals will be weekly. ?
