Wondering who else has applied for the Fall 2021 start date for the ABSN program at UMASS Boston. Also looking for insight into this program from current students. Thanks!

Hey There! I got accepted and will be attending the Fall program (I had originally applied for Spring). Good luck with applications, I look forward to meeting this cohort. ?

I also applied to Fall 2021 ABSN.

I applied! I wonder when we’ll hear back. Good luck to everyone!

I was told around the first week of June is when we would hear back.

@ashleyowen hey ashley! Do you mind me asking- when you say you originally applied for Spring, did they have you reactivate your application for fall and was then accepted ?

I just checked the portal, I did not get in ?   Good luck to you all!!

@Benzo5 Yeah so they had actually called me before giving me any formal acceptance or declination letter and asked if I would be interested in the Fall cohort instead. I jumped on it because it allowed me to give more notice to my work. So I didn't have to reapply they just moved me to the next cohort. I am guessing I would have been waitlisted if I didn't go that route.

I got in!

Btw, does anyone know if the clinicals this fall will be end of semester like they planned pre-covid, or if they will be done during the semester?

(and good luck to everyone)

I was accepted for Fall cohort and was able to speak with a student who is starting in the Summer cohort. Her clinicals look to be weekly on Tuesdays right now rather than at the end of the semester. Not sure what Fall will look like.

Hi everyone!
I applied for fall 2021 was offered a spot Spring 2022. Would love to hear from individuals in the same cohort! They said ~15 applicants were offered the later start.

I’m curious, are many students relocating for this program? I live in NJ currently, and will relocate a closer, but Boston is very expensive and we don’t have to be on campus / clinical super often. Thoughts?

I got accepted to the fall 2021 cohort. Good luck to everyone as you check, and congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!

@Kelsanne You’re right, Boston itself is very expensive, along with a number of the surrounding areas. I live about an hour outside of the city and don’t plan to relocate for school. I think that’s doable as long as you have a car. I don’t know if your asking thoughts on distance, or thoughts on towns to relocate to?

If you’re asking if it’s doable to be well outside the city yes it is, with a car, knowing you’ll have to deal with traffic (in my opinion). If your asking for neighborhood recommendations, IMO, that can be tricky, because neighborhoods vary greatly, but maybe someone else has a better sense!
