Hey everyone,
I submitted my application on February 1st for the UMass Amherst Accelerated BSN program that starts in August. I got an email a few days ago about setting up an interview either face-to-face or via the computer. I had to choose the computer option since I live in North Carolina. Anyways, my interview just ended and I wanted to see what others thought of their interview and such.
Also, I wanted to see if anyone who is currently attending there, had to have an interview before?
Thanks and good luck to all! :)
Congrats emc87.... If you don't mind me asking can you share your prerequisite grades, overall GPA ect. Also when did you submitted your application since the email I received said that completed applications are processed in the order received.... I mailed my application on Jan 28th received an email on Feb 12 saying my application is complete..... just want to get an idea...
Thanx
I live in NJ, so I would definitely think it would get to me before NC! It was a big envelope. The letter said that they need a decision and deposit by 3/20, which is in a week! So if anyone is waitlisted, I would imagine some spots will start to open up soon...
My GPA was 3.75 w/ all A's in my prereqs. I had 2 years experience volunteering in pediatric oncology, which I think is the area of nursing I'd like to go into (though I'm sure that could change). I didn't think my computer interview went very well, but I guess it was good enough. I mailed my application at the end of January and also received an email that my application was complete on Feb 12.
I went to Mount Holyoke College (a town over from Amherst) for my undergrad, so if anyone has questions about the area I'd be happy to answer them!
Has anyone heard when in August the program starts?
@emc87- That's so exciting!! Since the deposit is due soon, I'm sure everyone will hear in the next few days :) Thanks for the info about what to look for. WOOHOO!! Can't wait till we all hear, ahh the wait! Have you decided if you plan to attend UMass or elsewhere? :)
Pediatric oncology sounds like a great field!
I also got accepted. Yay!!!!! So excited. I 've been working away from home when I got the news after seeing emc87 & Drea9999 posted that they got in I asked my fiance to check the mail when he opens the mail and read it to me I could not believe it.I guess second time around was a charm. Wasn't expecting an acceptance this quick either.
Wishing everyone who is waiting for acceptance the best of luck.
