  1. Hey, I'm sorry you're having a tough start to the year. It sounds like your anxiety is really impacting how you feel, which likely makes focusing on your schoolwork/lectures difficult! It can feel like a lot of pressure to "learn everything" so you can care for patients, but you'll learn as you go along and the pieces will start to fit together with time. I had a similar experience when I started school last fall, and I found therapy to be helpful for my anxiety. There are also a number of different meds that could help. You know yourself best - if you feel like you could benefit from some extra support, I'd definitely recommend checking out your school's counseling center. That's what they're there for. :) Also, keep in mind that you're very likely not the only one who is having trouble with the transition into your program (even if it seems like everyone else has it all together!). Figuring that out helped me to feel less alone. If you're comfortable, reaching out to classmates about how you're feeling might be helpful. Good luck with everything!
  2. Congrats silverbullet1! Thanks zibi! My undergrad GPA was 3.75, prereqs were 4.0, and hesi was 96.
  3. Good luck zibi!
  4. I just got an acceptance letter via email from Jersey City! Anyone else?
  5. Hey brunettebelle - there's a form to sign along w/ a $100 deposit, which has to be postmarked by Thursday 3/20. I wouldn't be surprised if they're waiting to send out another wave of admissions after they hear from people on Thursday...I can't think of any other reason why they would ask for a decision/deposit so quickly after sending out the letters.
  6. I contacted NJCU and was told that they will send out Jersey City decisions around the end of March.
  7. Good luck! Hope to see you there too!!
  8. Hopefully going to attend UMass! :) A week isn't very long to figure it all out for sure though!
  9. I live in NJ, so I would definitely think it would get to me before NC! It was a big envelope. The letter said that they need a decision and deposit by 3/20, which is in a week! So if anyone is waitlisted, I would imagine some spots will start to open up soon... My GPA was 3.75 w/ all A's in my prereqs. I had 2 years experience volunteering in pediatric oncology, which I think is the area of nursing I'd like to go into (though I'm sure that could change). I didn't think my computer interview went very well, but I guess it was good enough. I mailed my application at the end of January and also received an email that my application was complete on Feb 12. I went to Mount Holyoke College (a town over from Amherst) for my undergrad, so if anyone has questions about the area I'd be happy to answer them! Has anyone heard when in August the program starts?
  10. Congrats Drea9999! Did you apply anywhere else? I'm waiting to hear from New Jersey City University near where I live now, but UMass was my first choice :)
  11. I got an acceptance letter yesterday! Anyone else? I wasn't expecting to hear so quickly after interviews ended...
  12. I wish I had done the interview in person. I did mine over the computer and had some issues with the technology, too. They also didn't ask very many questions - just some basics about why I'm interested in nursing, etc. - and it seemed kind of rushed to make sure it ended in time.
  13. I'm applying for the Jersey City campus. I took my HESI a couple weeks ago - just waiting on my second recommendation before I can submit my application to NursingCAS!
