Submitted my application for the University of Miami Accelerated BSN program a few days ago. Haven't received anything directly from the school yet. Anyone else out there apply?
I was accepted and am most likely going! I'm still trying to figure out between Emory and Miami, but I think Miami is the better fit for me. I graduate on May 16, so needless to say, I'll be missing my graduation to start classes. I'm originally from NY but go to school in NC, so moving is going to be a challenge, especially when my exams don't end until orientation day. But it will be well worth it! Glad to meet you all soon!
@vitaga12 supercool. I went to school in Durham :) What part of NC are you in school? Also I noticed that you are a CNA. Do you plan on working as one while enrolled?
Hey! I'm in WS at Wake Forest. I don't think so since I'll have to retest in Florida (I think); if anything, I might try to find a seasonal retail job in Miami or something. What about you?

I looked it up and its fairly simple. You just fill out a CNA Reciprocity form along with having your fingerprints taken and as long as everything checks out you should be able to be placed on the registry. But I plan to work per diem some where if possible just to stay in the field.

that sounds easy enough! I do think I might stick with something in retail though since I love interacting with people and shopping (but who doesn't?).
Hi Future Nurses,
I'm a little bit behind everyone else... I just got my acceptance letter today via cane link!!! I'm still waiting for the official package to see the full documents along with the list of items that need to be completed. Hopefully I'll be able to complete everything in time as I'm not sure as to whether or not I have all of my immunizations completed.
Looking forward to meeting everyone and good luck to anyone else who is still waiting!!!
Congrats tks79!!
Do you mind if I ask how you found out via Canelink? Did you go to the application status portion? I applied pretty much as the deadline so I am still waiting but they said I would know by the end of the month and it is now the end of the month. I hate the waiting period.
Thank you for any guidance.
Thank you Stefsteph,
I applied pretty late myself... Around February 23. I was verified on March 08. I noticed on Friday March 25 my application status on canelink went from "incomplete" to "complete." On Tuesday the 29, I checked canelink and under communications there were two messages to notify me of the acceptance. Then, I checked my spam folder and there was an email stating to check canelink.
Yes, that wait is horrible! I was told that a response would be sent by the end of March as well. I don't know if it's different from prior years... But, in the forum for last summer, it looks like people were still getting accepted in the first 2 weeks of April. I wish you all the best and I hope you get in!!!
