UM ABSN SPRING 2019

Published

Hi guys!

I'm currently completing my undergrad+prereqs to apply in the next year to UM's ABSN program for the Spring 2019 session (Apps due next august). I know it's a very premature thread but I thought there might be other applicants for the Spring 2019 session who are already freaking out about apps like me. If any students who were accepted for previous threads could share their experience, tips, or stats here that would be incredibly helpful.

We got this.

Ohh I see! Thank you for the clarification. Do you know how soon we will hear back after applying?

Btw I am from California, where are you all from? :)

I haven't received any official emails from them yet unfortunately (other than my back and forth emails with admissions). And I'm from Massachusetts :)

I'm sure we'll hear back any day now for the people who submitted early and have everything verified! This wait is killing me haha. I'm from NY btw

I'm in the same boat as katsolo above me. I've previously emailed someone from admissions, but nothing official. I am currently in Miami :)

Is UM everyone's first choice? I'm from CA as well! @futurenurselha which part of CA if you don't mind me asking? I'm from LA!

UM is indeed my first choice. I am not confident whatsoever on UM giving me a chance since nothing on my application stands out. Low GPA & no healthcare experience. I am currently transitioning out of Active Duty Military, though I have not served in a healthcare capacity.

Military is a huge benefit on an app, though!

Hi! I'm from Pennsylvania.

My reccomender finally posted my letter of reccomendation so now my app is finally able to be reviewed. I hope to hear by late July, because I have been accepted into another program that starts in late August.

I'm from NY! I have 1 letter in. Waiting on someone to submit another. Hopefully my app will be reviewed soon and waiting for the second doesn't impact when it's reviewed!

We can send more than one letter of recommendation?

Only one is required but you're able to send more. I don't know if UM looks at more than one, though. I have a few other schools requiring more than 1 so I figured I'd just have my second recommender submit it anyway.
