OK, so the rules have changed, and CPD is no longer enough.
I'm wondering about how to achieve the "reflective discussion" part when there are no UK registered nurses where I work.
So, all expat Brits, please let me know how you plan to maintain your NMC registration. Is anyone agreeable to contacting me, with a view to maybe planning an email/Skype discussion that we both can document?
I'm in Chicago btw, so if there are any other UK nurses here, we can meet in Panera instead : )
Hey I'm in Canada since 2018, revalidated with NMC twice since . In my account it states « practicing outside of the UK) I'm paying my fees each year and for revalidation I do my 5 reflective accounts, include all CPD obtained in Canada ( or UK , US online courses ) . It all counts . My friends from the UK provide the signature for the reflective discussion as you can do it with any NMC registered nurse , doesn't need to be coworker . I've never been audited and as I said it's been 6 years I keep my NMC reg . I went back this year to do some bank work and my reg is valid as normal .

Practicing outside the UK is not relevant in terms of registration.
Everyone has a location listed on their registration, mine used to say North West London, and now it says overseas. It doesn't change anything.
As long as you revalidate and keep your registration going, by working somewhere as a RN, then it makes no difference.
