Hi Kay
We are moving to Phoenix as soon as immigration gets sorted here are a couple of websites we have been looking at for info
http://aznb.com/ info to look at neighborhoods
http://www.phoenix360.com this I like as you can check weather and local news
http://www.century21.com this one is houses for sale and you can check local area on a house for crimes, schools etc
I know someone who has just moved to Phoenix from my PCT and I could ask her if I can give her email out for you to ask any questions.
Not sure about hubby for police as I think you have to be a citizen but he could always enquire

This is a great help. Can I ask why you are moving to Phoenix? You are not with an agency are you.
How long is it since you had visa screen?

Not going with an agency but found my job with a recruiter. No specific reason for Phoenix but when we visited last year to sit the NCLEX we stayed for 10 days so we could have a good look round and liked what we saw. Recieved visa screen in Sept and papers filed in Oct but going through CA which is taking a while. They haven't even opened my file yet.

I don't live in Phoenix but I visited several times when I was a kid. The weather is so hot!!! I would not visit again because the heat was unbearable. But some people like hot weather. So good luck. :)

We moved to Phoenix almost 3 years ago. Phoenix is a fast growing city. The COL is pretty good right now. It is very hot here in the summertime though, plus we can get monsoons at the end of the summer. Most people either love or hate the weather, because it's so intense. Fall, winter and spring are mild though. I don't mind the heat at all.
We built our house when we moved here. 2 years later the same one is now selling for 50K more so the equity we've built ain't bad. Although if I were someone looking to move, I'd do it quick. The housing prices are great now, but I hear it's getting tough to buy because of all the competition.
I am a student still. I hear the pay is good here. But do not know any more details than that. If you look at local hospital websites, you will see there are tons of job opportunities.

Thank you, I have neuro experience and heard there is a new neuro wing being opened and that they will be recruiting around the time I will be moving over
What hospital is that?
I seem to recall looking at Good Samaritans employment site and seeing them offering 12w paid on, 4w paid off, for Neuro ICU. Might wanna check that out!
