2016 UIC Graduate Entry Master of Science Program (GEM)

Published

I haven't seem a UIC 2016 GEM thread yet. Did anyone apply? How competitive is the GEM program?

Congratulations on being invited to interview and GOOD LUCK! Definitely let us know how it went, we are rooting for you!!

Has anyone else applied to St Louis University for the AMSN program? I have been accepted to SLU, but they want a decision/ deposit by the end of February. My UIC interview isn't until March 7th...

Anyway you could move your interview with UIC up?? See if there were any opening for this Friday? Congrats on SLU my best friend went through that program and loved it!

My interview is this Friday as well! I will try to update as much as possible. Best of luck to everyone! We got this :)

Wow! Congratulations on SLU - I've only heard good things - didn't apply because my family is in the Chicago area and I need to commute, but would love to say I have a SLU degree (such an awesome school)! I would definitely check to see if you could get your interview bumped, but I'm afraid that won't help you much considering decisions are released late April for UIC. Knowing how competitive these programs are, if it was me I wouldn't let an opportunity like SLU slip away, especially if I know I already had it. But that's just me!

Thank you! I thought I read somewhere that UIC decides pretty quickly after the interview, within a week or so. I was able to change my interview to this Friday the 19th, which is better, but a delayed decision from UIC would keep my in my current predicament.

The last interview is March 8th - I would think they would make and release their decision after all of the interviews are complete - which would put us at March 15th - March 22nd if it is a quick turnaround. In everything I have read, I have heard they are the ones that announce the latest - around April (which is super inconvenient).

Update: Just called in and they said they release application decisions mid April.

Hello all! To those who received interview invitations via email: have any of you been able to access the sound on the ppt file with narration? I have tried viewing it with the volume up on a couple different computers. No luck yet...

I haven't but I assume it's serves as an aide copy that just narrates the file. I mean all three are kind of the same thing.. >.

How was the interview??

The interview was interesting format.

They asked just a few basic questions and we each answered them. And than we were able to ask questions at the end. I don't feel like they got to know me from the interview. But it could be others feel differently.

Anyways don't stress and good luck!

Hello all! Hope all of us on this forum gets in this year! My interview is on March 8th, hopefully there will be friendly faces because I'm kind of stressed out about group interview.

I wonder how many of UIC applicants also applied for Rush and DePaul and other universities this year. UIC is really not cheap compare to other programs these days.
