Hi! I applied as well. I'm not sure how competitive it is. Any idea about their timeline? The website is vague. Based on last years forum (https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/uic-gep-applicants-971613.html), it looks like applicants were invited to group interviews about two and a half weeks after the admissions deadline. Anyone know if they plan on doing interviews this year?
I think there are 204 interview slots (someone might want to recount to check?) on the sign up website. I just spoke with someone in the nursing department - they say they plan on taking 52 for Chicago. So roughly a 25% chance of being accepted - not the best statistic, but hopefully that helps! I also read on a forum (I will try to find it) that there are roughly 300 applicants total in the initial stage before they narrow it down to the interview candidates. So congratulations to everyone who has made it past stage one!

I am super nervous about the group interview as well! Its between 4 people and only 30 minutes, doesn't seem like enough time. It also sounds like they just ask you why you want to go into nursing...basically the same question in the app. essays?

I haven't seem a UIC 2016 GEM thread yet. Did anyone apply? How competitive is the GEM program?
