Anyone planning to apply to UIC's GEP for winter/spring 2012? (http://www.uic.edu/nursing/prospectivestudents/gep-about.shtml) The application opened on January 15 and is due March 1.
I just finished the primary application and am waiting to receive the secondary application to send out recommendation requests. Their application cycle is a bit odd and inconvenient, since most other places that start in the fall require deposits by late March into early April, and UIC doesn't inform you of your status until late April. But in the end, it's still a great program and worth a shot.
CLO233--It's possible I misunderstood--sorry. However, when I had my interview they said we would find out by mid may. I asked a question about this in my interview since it was different than what is on the website/info sessions. My interviewer explained that it takes time to get the decision approved by UIC/the GEP program/etc hence the wait time. I really hope we find out sooner...
Did anyone else for FNP hear different at the interview?
Prettylights,
Did you have yours on Monday the 4th?? I went at 10am with Dr. Corbridge. I was trying to figure out if there were any interviews after the 4th because I was told that they were looking to accept 14 students but the way it seemed that the inteviews were set up there was only 10 time slots between two interviewers from 9-11.
I'm not sure how my interview went. It was pretty short and to the point (16 minutes to be exact). I didn't really have any questions for her since I've been researching this program for the past 12 months. She was super nice though.
Any input from your interview would be much appreciated but I completely understand if you do not want to share.
I don't think so. I think all of us were on the 4th. I have been checking my email and this board like a maniac. I'm pretty confident that we will hear by next Friday based on last year's information. I also keep checking my application to see if the status changes from pending manual review to "accepted" LOL

As far as clinical rotations go, I think it depends on the speciality. What speciality did you apply for?
