UH Manoa GEPN Fall 2015 Applicants

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hello all,

I noticed there was not a thread started for the University of Hawaii-Manoa GEPN Fall 2015 applicants so I decided to start one!

I just finished up all of the requirements and got all of my documents and information submitted through NursingCAS yesterday...so now the waiting begins.

I applied for the APHN program for Fall 2015.

I know they admit on a rolling admissions basis now so I'm just anxious, waiting, and nervous about a response. I was told that it will take approximately 4-6 weeks or so to possibly receive a decision. It can't come quick enough for me!!!!! =D

Is there anyone else who applied for the GEPN Fall 2015 cohort at UH-Manoa? Wondering who may be joining me in the Fall of 2015!!

Hi Caitlintaylorr, Just out of curiousity, which specialty track did you apply to? Did you receive a generic e-mail from UH regarding the delay in decisions or was it from Shannon? I e-mailed Shannon shortly after the deadline and he told me that it was going to take six to eight weeks for a decision. I am anxiously awaiting as well. Good luck to everyone!

Hi Mamafour, I applied to the Master of Science - Adult/Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist track. The email I received was from Shannon. Which program did you apply to? Definitely getting anxious as the decision date gets closer. I'm curious at how impacted this program is compared to others and how high their acceptance rate is. Does anyone know? Good luck to you all!

Good luck everyone who is still awaiting decisions!

For those who have heard back, has anyone started a Facebook page for this year's cohort? I was accepted, mid-February, to the APHN specialty. It might be fun and beneficial to get to know each other before August!

Hey everyone! I too was recently accepted into the GEPN-APHN program this Fall. :) Excited to see everyone! I started a FB page if anyone wants to join. Search for "UH Manoa GEPN Cohort". Feel free to make changes to the page :)

I just sent a request to join! Yah!

Hi all! I was accepted into the FNP track, can't seem to find the facebook UH manoa GEPN page, is it still up?

forward to meeting you all!!

Aloha :) I finished my Nursing CAS application back in October and I found out in March that I was admitted into the GEPN APHN program for Fall 2015! I hope to meet all of you during our Orientation Week in August. Best wishes and good luck to everyone who applied!!

Aloha rKlee, I was accepted into the APHN program too!! It looks we will be classmates for the next 2 or so years :) In regards to your concern about financial aid, I would recommend that you contact the UHM financial aid office and request for a more detailed report of tuition and fees for the GEPN program. They may take a day or two to reply back but Iʻm sure that they will get you the information you need!

Hey everyone,

Sorry, super new to this allnurses thing. But I was just accepted to the DNP-AGNP program, and I was wondering, for those who have already been accepted, have you already received a financial aid award? I'm having a hard time finding an accurate estimate of the total cost of the program (at least in regard to tuition). I found the table on their tuition/fees page to be a little convoluted. And I just wanted an idea of how much tuition would be.

Thanks! And congrats to everyone who got in!

Hi caitlinnk,

I also had a little trouble in regards to the financial age package from UHM. I contacted the Financial Aid office via telephone and asked if they could give me a more detailed break down of the total cost of attendance. They were very sweet about it and explained each expenses (i.e. tuition, room and board, etc.) and also provided a concrete number to represent the cost. I would highly recommend contacting them and they should be able to help you out. :)
