Hello,
I know it's fairly early, but I was wondering if there are any other applicants that are applying to UH Manoa's GEPN program for Fall 2020. If so, what track are you applying for and what are your stats? This would be my third time applying for the DNP (currently indecisive and thinking of applying for the APHN program instead), so I am hoping that I have worked towards becoming a more competitive applicant. I frequent these threads every application cycle, so I'm hoping by sharing my stats others will be a little less anxious.
Here are my stats - I have earned a Bachelors of Science in Public Health and have some experience working in a community health care facility focusing on the nutrition of women and children. I have also taken a CNA course, but I am not CNA certified. I am also a graduate student studying for my MPH with a current GPA of a 4.0 and I am also enrolling in a course to become a labor & post-partum doula.
Best of luck to everyone!
@kykyx Hey, I got into the GEPN MS track in Fall 2020 and I have the same concerns regarding the Genetics course. I didn't take BIOL 275 before as well and couldn't get an override. Do you mind sharing where you'll be taking it in Spring? Feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] ? Thank you!
Hi, Everyone
So I applied to GEPN FNP on Sept 28 and got an email mid October, stating that I was placed as an alternate and would be notified by Jan 15, 2020 if I officially got in. However, I was checking my emails yesterday and noticed I received an email from GEPN application decision status 12/20, stating that I have been recommended for admission and will receive a letter from both UH Graduate division and the School of Nursing. I'm really excited and hope all of you that where placed on the waitlist not to give up hope
Has anyone received their official letter from the graduate division yet? If so, how long did it take you to receive? I’m checking my mail everyday.

Hi!! I also have to take Genetics but do see that we need Bio275 as a pre-req. I do also see that we need “Bio 275 or consent”, does anyone know what exactly it means by needing consent?
