UH Manoa GEPN Cohort 2020

Published

Hello,

I know it's fairly early, but I was wondering if there are any other applicants that are applying to UH Manoa's GEPN program for Fall 2020. If so, what track are you applying for and what are your stats? This would be my third time applying for the DNP (currently indecisive and thinking of applying for the APHN program instead), so I am hoping that I have worked towards becoming a more competitive applicant. I frequent these threads every application cycle, so I'm hoping by sharing my stats others will be a little less anxious.

Here are my stats - I have earned a Bachelors of Science in Public Health and have some experience working in a community health care facility focusing on the nutrition of women and children. I have also taken a CNA course, but I am not CNA certified. I am also a graduate student studying for my MPH with a current GPA of a 4.0 and I am also enrolling in a course to become a labor & post-partum doula.

Best of luck to everyone!

Hi! I will be coming from the mainland as well!

Awesome! Perhaps we can connect once our official letters come?

I just received my letter of acceptance for the Fall 2020 MSN program. It arrived 11 days after my email of recommendation! See you in August!

I received my official letter of acceptance in the mail yesterday too and just emailed my acceptance of the acceptance LOL. Has anyone created a FB page for our cohort? If not, I'll be happy to do so. Does anyone know which cohort we are considered to be? Is it cohort 13?

I don't believe there is one and have not a clue what cohort number we are. Does 2020 work since they only admit once per year?

I created a Facebook group titled "UH Manoa GEPN 2020" and invited the 2 people who left their emails here. All else who were accepted are encouraged to join.

Hi! Please add me to the group as well to network! My email is [email protected]

I invited you to the group.

Hi there! I have some questions that maybe you guys can provide feedback on? I just received my letter of admission and I am required to give my intent to register by the 20th. Am I able to accept my admissions and withdraw later if needed? The only reason I say that is because I am still waiting for a couple other programs and their decisions do not come out until next month. I am coming from the mainland and these programs are from here. I’d hate to not accept Mānoa’s offer and not know if I’ll get into another program.

has anyone encountered a problem like this? Any feedback?

thanks guys!

Honestly I’d email Chris Stutes and ask him. UH Manoa was my first choice, so I can’t give you any advice on other programs.

Hello everyone,

I'm planning to apply for UHM GEPN after I finish my bachelor's. I was just wondering what the competitive GPA to get accepted is. I know there are other factors like experience, award/accomplishments, etcetera. But I was just wondering if my GPA is competitive enough. Thank you.
