Hi! Anyone apply to the DNP program for fall 2014 at the University of Florida?
My second hand information is this: the advisers have still not sent out ANY acceptance letters as of this afternoon. Tomorrow I will be going to the Dean of Students office along with a fellow student currently in the class of 2014 ASBN program who has applied to the Acute Pediatric DNP as well. We will try to figure out what the hold up is and let you all know accordingly. I know a lot of you have to make living arrangements and such, or let your jobs know if you'll be attending graduate school this fall.
Again, let me know if there's any information you need regarding housing options (Gainesville has a LOT of apartment complexes, some good, some bad, some far away) or other kinds of general information that you may not get from just random internet searching. Feel free to friend me on Facebook: Hanna Chilton, and we can talk! Best of luck to all of you, again.
I won't have my BSN until August either. It's more about the work you have currently done and recommendations, as well as your plan for your graduate school future. They know that pretty much everyone that comes out of a BSN program receives similar education. I would encourage you to apply ASAP!
However, as it's pretty late in the application cycle, it might benefit you more to have a couple of semesters worth of experience under your belt. It might make you more comfortable about applying.
Well, since UF is my old choice, the wait isn't bothering me too much. But, I wonder if there are people who turned down other schools to wait for UF...But, anyways, I am hoping that the letters get to us next Monday. It sounds like they won't get them out until Thursday or Friday of this week. So, I'm hopeful for an acceptance letter in Saturday or Monday mail for everyone :)
