UF BSN to DNP Fall 2018

Published

Hello. I'm applying to UF Family NP BSN to DNP program for a start date in the Fall 2018. Is anyone else applying? Is anyone else already in the program? I'm taking GRE in two weeks and I really haven't studied for it. How important is the GRE in the admission process? Also, what is the program like? Any reccomendations or advice? Please share any information. Thanks!

Hello murse93! I applied for the same program as you. Good luck to us and everyone else applying. They're definitely requiring the GRE. I've taken it twice and got the same score. Unfortunately, I got a 151/154 (I didn't get the verbal requirement of 153). I'm taking a risk and not retaking it. I've asked admissions and they are encouraging for everyone to meet the scores for our applications to be competitive. They also confirmed that they have accepted people in the past with less than minimum requirements for the GRE. I'm hoping I get a point for having a high GPA, my statement of purpose, and my experience.

You did better than me. 138/136. I won't be upset if I don't get in; I didn't put the time into studying. I was too busy. What's your experience, if you don't mind sharing?

Try again, maybe you'll get a higher score! I did community service with the clinical ladder in a children's hospital here. My background is in PICU and PEDS ER, and now I work full time now in a university-setting.

Hello. I also applied for Fall 2018, FNP. My GRE quantitative score was low (154/137) but I am hopeful my GPA, community involvement, and strong references will help. I would love to be a Gator, but UNF's DNP is shorter and near my home so it would also be a good fit. I am surprised to see there aren't more responses on the UF threads like there have been in past years.

I agree, I thought there'd be more people responding so we can all support each other in this wait and process. Maybe more will come once the March 1 deadline hits. Good luck to us!

I'm going to be stalking my email everyday starting today until we receive these decisions! Who's with me!
