Starting a thread for anyone who's applying or applied to University of Florida's BSN to DNP Program Fall 2018. I applied for their FNP track.
Anyone here on the same boat as me?

I applied to UF's BSN to DNP adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner program. However, they're still waiting on my transcripts. Do you have an idea of how long we will be waiting to hear from admissions?
I have no idea, I've gotten responses from my other schools. But I know the deadline for UF is not until March 1. So maybe we'll be waiting until March. Good luck to you!

I submitted my application yesterday for the adult-gerontology acute care NP track. I emailed the advisor and she replied saying my app was ready for review and they are going to start reviewing after the march 1st deadline. I was also told decisions will go out through email starting late April-early May.
Hope this helps! Good luck to all of us!

I also applied to the BSN to DNP FNP track. They are just waiting on my GRE scores. Already got accepted into the DNP program at USF and declined Nova. Hopefully UF process is faster once the deadline has passed
Yes this definitely helps! Thank you so much! I wish they send out the decisions earlier than late April/May. Good luck to you too!

Hello. I also applied for Fall 2018, FNP. My GRE quantitative score was low (154/137) but I am hopeful my GPA, community involvement, and strong references will help. I would love to be a Gator, but UNF's DNP is shorter and near my home so it would also be a good fit. I am surprised to see there aren't more responses on the UF threads like there have been in past years.
Hey guys, I know the advisor told me that decisions will not be going out till late April/early May but I am just so anxious. I was going through old posts from other years and I saw one where they did not get decisions till June! I believe that was because they had staffing changes and what not. What I am holding on to and hoping its the same with us is the class that got admitted last year already had decisions by the 3rd day of April. Hopefully, we get decisions that early!

Hi all! I submitted my application to the BSN-DNP for the FNP track. The advisor told me that last year they admitted around 100 students overall for their DNP programs but it all depends on staffing, applicants, and resources when it comes to how many they admit. Hopefully we will find out sooner than later! Best of luck to everyone!

I too have applied to UF's BSN to DNP program for FNP for Fall 2018. I am on pins and needles to find out! I know from my past experiences with UF, they always seem to be the last to notify acceptance compared to other schools. I saw where someone said they accepted around 100 applicants. I wonder what their applicant to acceptance ratio is?
I believe with most schools its a little higher than 50%, depending on how many apply. This is from U.S. News for University of Florida DNP Admission (2016):
Applicants 166
Acceptances 83
Acceptance rate (DNP) 50%
New entrants 71
Just wondering to those of us that applied, why are you guys applying to UF? Have you guys heard from friends or other forums on how their experience is with the program?
I applied to UF for several reasons actually. First of all, their upstanding reputation academically in general. Additionally, they have an all online program which I have found in my own experience to make things much more flexible and just all around easier to do coursework in my own timeframe. I do have several friends that have gone through UF when the NP program was a MSN instead of a DNP and additionally, I currently have a friend in the DNP program. My friend who is in the DNP program now says the professors are helpful with questions and assisting the students with "figuring things out". She did say last year's applicant pool was huge and did recommend applying to back-up schools.
