Starting a thread for anyone who's applying or applied to University of Florida's BSN to DNP Program Fall 2018. I applied for their FNP track.

Anyone here on the same boat as me?

I am literally so anxious. I don't think I cant wait anymore. I check my email 300 times a day even though the advisor said not until late april/early may

If it is any consolation, it sounds like the applications are currently with the admissions committee pending final decisions per the email from my advisor this morning. Fingers crossed that maybe we find out sooner!!

Thank you so much! Please keep us updated if you have any new info :)

Wow! That would be awesome if they would allow us to find out sooner. Decisions are supposed to be given via email, right?

Yes! I hope we find out soon & thank you so much for the info. I'm getting anxious on whether or not I get in, because this is my top choice. Good luck to all of us!

I'm super anxious so I ended up emailing the graduate advisor a few days ago and she reaffirmed that decisions would not go out until late April to early May. I guess we are stuck waiting it out. :( I went into the GRE the first time without studying and boy, that joker was serious! I didn't get the minimum verbal on the first try but after a month of studying and completing a GRE prep course I took it again and got a 154 Verbal and 150 Quantitative. Did anyone else have to take it more than once? I have almost two years of nursing experience between a med-surg floor, the ED, and pediatrics. How about you guys?

i took the GRE twice and literally got the same score. 151/154, I'm nervous that my 151 would hinder me from my admissions. I find it crazy because other schools don't require GRE anymore. I'm hoping that my high GPA, recommendations & letter of intent will be enough.

I have pediatric ED & PICU experience, but I also have simulation education experience as well.

I too did not meet the minimum GRE scores. I did for quantitative, but not for verbal. I do not have any prior experience, however, so I feel that I am at a disadvantage:unsure: what specific program are you all applying to? Also, does anyone have any further updates? I have already e-mailed Mailing twice about decisions, so I am afraid to send another, but the anticipation is killing me!:nailbiting:

Hang in there @kwain, we're all in this together. I'm afraid to email them about decisions.

I ended up emailing her yesterday, but haven't gotten a reply. I'll let you all know if/when she emails back though!

She said to still expect late this month or early May decisions.

Thanks for the update @kwain. I'm still checking my email everyday & awaiting these decisions. I'm keeping my hopes up that they send it to us this April, instead of May.

@kwain - I have been an RN for 12 years. I was in the ER for 2 years and have 10 years hospice experience with over 5 of those years in management. I applied for the FNP program, I had a 4.0 on my BSN coursework, but did not get the minimum score on the verbal. I did get the quantitative and although not required, I took the writing and got a 4.5/6. I had amazing letters of recommendation and a really strong letter of intent. I started undergrad at UF MANY years ago and got in when other people who were comparable to me did not. My daughter also attends UF as an undergrad. The application process is honestly a toss up. It really depends on what specifically the admissions board is looking for at this time. Good luck!
