UF Accelerated Nursing 2016

Published

Hi, everyone!

I figured I'd get a thread started for everyone applying to the Accelerated Nursing Program at UF for Summer 2016. I know this thread was done last year, so it'd be nice to continue the tradition and help each other as potential Gator Nurses next year!

I'm currently looking to apply to UF, but I'm also debating other schools in Florida. However, I've only taken the GRE, and I would still need to take the other exam that the other schools require as well. How does everyone else feel about their application?

Hi everyone! :) Does anyone know if they count the grades from the Fall semester of 2015 towards the last 60 credits? Thanks!

Hey guys!! I have applied for this summers program at the Jacksonville campus. I called uf today and they said they haven't even started reviewing our applications but we will have a decision via email in February. They said there is no interview so apparently the decisions are based off of our letters, grades, and personal essays. I'm feeling nervous/excited, but read online that they are only accepting 24 students due to it being their first class. Good luck to all! 😃

Thank you for the update :)

I am under the impression that they do.

I thought they were going to send acceptance via a letter

I'm very confused, and hopefully one of y'all can help me out... All parts of my application were submitted by December 13, and I still have not yet received word from either NursingCAS or UF that my application was received/in its entirety, is being processed, etc. I called NursingCAS first, and they told me to call UF Nursing-- I've called UF Nursing a couple of times and never heard back, so I'm starting to lose hope.

On the "program status" screen on NursingCAS, it says that all of my UF materials have been received, yet none of them have been verified (despite the fact that they were submitted about 6-7 weeks ago). So I guess my main question is, does NursingCAS "hold" materials until they are verified?

I appreciate any insight-- UF is one of my top schools!

My NursingCAS page still says "verifying" as well. I just got an e-mail today about my post-bacc application for UF, apparently I was missing a transcript, so I hope to hear soon about that.

I assume it just takes a while to verify so many transcripts and reference letters. Hopefully other people are experiencing the same thing!

Hi txgal333, my application on NursingCAS still lists my application status as "verifying". I called NursingCAS and they told me that the school can view the application (i.e. not to worry about it). I called Kenneth Foote (UF) and he told me that they would contact me if any part of my application was missing; if I submitted a NursingCAS application, they knew I was applying. So, I would not worry. You can always try calling UF again, though, if you're still anxious about it.

How is everyone's GPAs? Like last 60-credit hours GPA AND nursing prereqs GPA? I'm nervous about mine.

I applied to the UF ABSN program on a long shot back in December after I noticed they dropped the GRE requirement. I just found this thread and thought I'd join to keep my ear to the ground. Is anyone here aware of when they start sending out notice of acceptance or rejection? I feel like I saw something a long time ago and now I can't seem to find a date.

Hi everyone!

I contacted Ken today and he said the decisions should be out in February, although there is no exact date yet.

I also spoke with NursingCAS since a few of us were worried about the lack of verified status on their end. Apparently UF doesn't require them to verify the information, so it will stay greyed out as unverified!

is anyone finishing up a pre-req right now?
