UF Accelerated BSN 2017

Published

Hello everyone,

I have already gotten extremely worried about the UF ABSN application process even before it starts! So here I am creating a thread to share my concerns with you all who may be on the same boat with me.

At the moment, my biggest concern is that my overall undergraduate GPA (which is from a foreign country) is embarrassingly low (under 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and my upper division GPA is probably even lower, due to my lack of seriousness during my undergraduate studies. BUT, when I came to the US for my Master's degree at FIU, I became more serious with school and graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.85. I did read that UF website states only GPA from the most recent 60 credit hours or cumulative GPA from Master's or PhD is calculated for admission criteria, nonetheless, I am still very concerned that overall GPA from all colleges attended will be taken into account, and my undergraduate GPA would have dragged me down.

I am currently working part-time at a home health company as a CNA while taking my pre-requisites, so far I am straight A's and have Microbiology in the Fall and A&PII in the Spring left to be finished. I have no idea how much chance I stand for the UF accelerated program but it is my only hope and dream because all other Universities require a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

I would really appreciate it if anyone can share their thoughts with me. Thank you!

Anyone else checking their email every 5 minutes? í ½í¸³

Goodluck to everyone!

Will we be contacted via email or mail?

I think they will contact us through email

Yep. I'm driving my husband nuts. And myself. And my kids lol.

Hi all... another day is passing... I don't know if I can handle the weekend!

As for my stats... I have a 4.0 for my masters (if you have a post-grad, they take that GPA instead of last 60 of your undergrad, so hopefully that makes you fee a little better Second-Career!), close to a 4.0 for my pre-reqs (still finishing A&P2), and am a Gator alum (09' and a member of Sigma Kappa!). I am a middle school teacher right now, and I teach ELA. I saw that Second-Career has kids... anyone else a fellow parent? I have two little ones - a daughter (4) and son (almost 1).

I am also nervous as my GPA is almost the bare minimum. I have been working in the field as an EMT for 4 years and a year ago started working in a local ER... hoping we find out soon!

Decisions are out I repeat decisions are out!!!!

I'm in!!! I got in!! I'm a soon to be gator nurse!!!

Which campus??

I have heard nothing. Did you get in?

Congrats to everyone that got in. Guess a 4.0 in post grad and prereqs wasn't what they were looking for... good luck to all the new Gator nurses! Go Gators!
