Hello everyone,
I have already gotten extremely worried about the UF ABSN application process even before it starts! So here I am creating a thread to share my concerns with you all who may be on the same boat with me.
At the moment, my biggest concern is that my overall undergraduate GPA (which is from a foreign country) is embarrassingly low (under 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and my upper division GPA is probably even lower, due to my lack of seriousness during my undergraduate studies. BUT, when I came to the US for my Master's degree at FIU, I became more serious with school and graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.85. I did read that UF website states only GPA from the most recent 60 credit hours or cumulative GPA from Master's or PhD is calculated for admission criteria, nonetheless, I am still very concerned that overall GPA from all colleges attended will be taken into account, and my undergraduate GPA would have dragged me down.
I am currently working part-time at a home health company as a CNA while taking my pre-requisites, so far I am straight A's and have Microbiology in the Fall and A&PII in the Spring left to be finished. I have no idea how much chance I stand for the UF accelerated program but it is my only hope and dream because all other Universities require a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
I would really appreciate it if anyone can share their thoughts with me. Thank you!
I got in the gainesville campus
Did you select only Gainesville campus on your application? I selected no preference so I would have a better chance of getting in. I got Jacksonville. Which is a blessing either way! But my husband has gotten a really good job here in Gainesville where we already live. So going to Jacksonville will be a pretty big sacrifice. I'm wondering if there's any way to switch campuses after they are going to be getting RSVPs.

Hi, first of all, congratulations for your admission! I was thinking the same when I first filled out my application but after reconsideration, I decided to take a gamble for the Gainesville campus as I really didn't want to move to another city. I was reading that it won't be possible to switch campus once you have made your selection. But it's good to ask the authority to clarify better for you to be sure. In any case, I wish you good luck!

I'm so sorry, I can hear the disappointment in your voice. I'm dying because I received no email.
