UF Accelerated BSN 2017

Published

Hello everyone,

I have already gotten extremely worried about the UF ABSN application process even before it starts! So here I am creating a thread to share my concerns with you all who may be on the same boat with me.

At the moment, my biggest concern is that my overall undergraduate GPA (which is from a foreign country) is embarrassingly low (under 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and my upper division GPA is probably even lower, due to my lack of seriousness during my undergraduate studies. BUT, when I came to the US for my Master's degree at FIU, I became more serious with school and graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.85. I did read that UF website states only GPA from the most recent 60 credit hours or cumulative GPA from Master's or PhD is calculated for admission criteria, nonetheless, I am still very concerned that overall GPA from all colleges attended will be taken into account, and my undergraduate GPA would have dragged me down.

I am currently working part-time at a home health company as a CNA while taking my pre-requisites, so far I am straight A's and have Microbiology in the Fall and A&PII in the Spring left to be finished. I have no idea how much chance I stand for the UF accelerated program but it is my only hope and dream because all other Universities require a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

I would really appreciate it if anyone can share their thoughts with me. Thank you!

I got in!! Jax Campus!

I got in for the Gainesville campus! I selected Gainesville on my app.

UCF vs UF: So I was accepted to UF Gainesville campus and I am super happy, however UF is probably my second choice, as I live in Orlando and I am still waiting on decision from UCF. from my understanding the decisions wont be in until about mid March. We have to make a decision by March 10th with UF, but the deposit is not due until 24th. Is anyone else torn?

If i respond to UF but wait on my deposit until I hopefully hear from UCF by 24th. What are the implications on saying we will attend and we actually don't? Also, isn't UF harder to get into? Isn't it considered the best university in Florida? So with that logic, if I got into UF, i should definitely get into UCF. I am really not sure what to do though. Advice anyone? Please.

For those of you who did not get any email. CHECK YOUR SPAM MAIL. All of my school decisions have been coming to Spam mail! So frustrating, but at least I realized it before its too late.

Does anyone know when the start day is. I saw it somewhere previously, but now I can't find it.

Hi all,

I'm from Connecticut and was just accepted into the Gainsville Campus; congrats to everyone else who received the good news, I look forward to meeting some of you!

This will be a pretty abrupt/quick move for me, however, I am beyond excited to start planning out the details of how to make this happen.. Where to even begin :nailbiting:

An earlier post stated that classes start May 8th

Has anyone not received their email yet? I unfortunately don't have access to my old email so looks like I have to wait until kenneth replay to my message.. sucks

Accepted to the Jacksonville campus! Leaving all my friends behind in Gainesville will be hard but I'm really excited for what lies ahead!

I haven't heard yet either. It seems like they will send out another round of emails on Monday and/or Tuesday.

I will be relocating to the jax area as well! Any idea on where you are looking at moving to? Jacksonville is so huge

Does anyone know why some people received emails and some didn't? Is this a bad sign?

I doubt it. I received my email after 4pm so I think they just got a late start. Seams like they notified Jax campus first and will resume with Gainesville on next week :)
