Hello everyone,
I have already gotten extremely worried about the UF ABSN application process even before it starts! So here I am creating a thread to share my concerns with you all who may be on the same boat with me.
At the moment, my biggest concern is that my overall undergraduate GPA (which is from a foreign country) is embarrassingly low (under 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and my upper division GPA is probably even lower, due to my lack of seriousness during my undergraduate studies. BUT, when I came to the US for my Master's degree at FIU, I became more serious with school and graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.85. I did read that UF website states only GPA from the most recent 60 credit hours or cumulative GPA from Master's or PhD is calculated for admission criteria, nonetheless, I am still very concerned that overall GPA from all colleges attended will be taken into account, and my undergraduate GPA would have dragged me down.
I am currently working part-time at a home health company as a CNA while taking my pre-requisites, so far I am straight A's and have Microbiology in the Fall and A&PII in the Spring left to be finished. I have no idea how much chance I stand for the UF accelerated program but it is my only hope and dream because all other Universities require a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
I would really appreciate it if anyone can share their thoughts with me. Thank you!
Hey guys, congrats to everyone who got in! I got in and will be relocating to jax! Soooooo who knows anything/wants to look at apartments lololol I've never been to jax oops
Hey there! congrats I got into the Jax campus as well! I've been living in Jax for the last 5 years. I graduated from UNF, so I'm pretty familiar with the area. If anyone needs any tips on where to live in Jax or any questions on the area let me know!
I would like to, but I don't know how lol. Did anyone start their drug test yet?
I can do it ( a facebook group) when I am not overloaded with work at the start of next week, its pretty simple. I have made an account with the system we need to submit all the required stuff, I haven't looked at it much further than that; but I plan on submitting on the paper work over the next month or two.
That makes sense to pay the deposit before the background check. I was mistaken as I thought the background check and drug test was supposed to be done by March 9th but it is actually May 9th! If bn91 gets time and makes an account later, you can let us know here so we can join for discussions. That would be wonderful.
Hey all! I will try to get the Facebook group going tomorrow. That should provide us all with a better form of communication as we all get ready for this exciting new chapter in our lives.
I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of individuals who have been accepted do not know about this particular forum; or rather they didn't choose to make an account. I think letting Kennith know that students have made a Facebook group would be a great way to have others who are in the same boat get to know their future colleges, friends, and peers. Go Gators !

Hey everyone! I've been following the conversation, but haven't had a good moment to post till now. I was waitlisted, but I haven't seen anyone else say they were which is a little odd.
I talked to Kenneth yesterday and he said there were more way qualified applicants than they'd ever received previously. So I'd imagine those of us on the waitlist are part of a pretty large group. He said we should know whether we will have a seat or not by the 17th, so I'm hoping the wait shouldn't be too much longer.
