UF Accelerated BSN 2017

Published

Hello everyone,

I have already gotten extremely worried about the UF ABSN application process even before it starts! So here I am creating a thread to share my concerns with you all who may be on the same boat with me.

At the moment, my biggest concern is that my overall undergraduate GPA (which is from a foreign country) is embarrassingly low (under 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) and my upper division GPA is probably even lower, due to my lack of seriousness during my undergraduate studies. BUT, when I came to the US for my Master's degree at FIU, I became more serious with school and graduated with a cumulative GPA of 3.85. I did read that UF website states only GPA from the most recent 60 credit hours or cumulative GPA from Master's or PhD is calculated for admission criteria, nonetheless, I am still very concerned that overall GPA from all colleges attended will be taken into account, and my undergraduate GPA would have dragged me down.

I am currently working part-time at a home health company as a CNA while taking my pre-requisites, so far I am straight A's and have Microbiology in the Fall and A&PII in the Spring left to be finished. I have no idea how much chance I stand for the UF accelerated program but it is my only hope and dream because all other Universities require a cumulative GPA of 3.0.

I would really appreciate it if anyone can share their thoughts with me. Thank you!

What is the number to get in contact with Kenneth or his secretary?

(352)273-6400 puts you to an automated thing. (352)273-6457 puts you to a secretary

For those of you still waiting to hear..I left another message for Kenneth Wynn and he called me back, so maybe try calling him today even if you have to leave a voicemail. When I said I hadn't received an email he thought it was odd and told me my status over the phone. Unfortunately I didn't get in but it is what it is. Good luck to the rest of you!

For those of you who still dont have an email. It may be possible that they are waiting until the 10th to see how many people accept the offer. You may still get the email when people reject. Just a hopeful thought.

Has no one been waitlisted? Seems so weird that no one has reported that yet...

Did you find this out? I'm in the same boat!

I don't know how to message you privately on this website, so I will comment here. I called Mr. Kenneth this morning about withdrawing the class. If I hear anything back from him, I will let you know. Please let me know as well if you also ask him the same question. Thanks!

I got ahold of him this morning and he said withdrawing from a class that is not a pre-requisite for UF is fine!

Oh that's great to hear! Thank you for letting me know! Are you going to withdraw too for sure? I really want to withdraw the class now. Lol I am very indecisive!

Wonderful! I am going to withdraw tomorrow!

Anyone having luck with getting a call/email back or updated news as to why some of us haven't received any word? Left a voicemail and double emailed today with no follow up.
