Hello Everyone!
I'm getting this forum started early for those who are applying to the UF College of Nursing's Accelerated Bachelors of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program!
Feel free to get the discussion going... How do you stand among others (GRE, GPA, etc)? Go Gators! :)
While I don't wish anyone anxiety, it is nice knowing I'm not alone in rereading my essay when I get worried. I've changed jobs in between applying and now, and I wish I could tell them, but that's neither here nor there. I'm waiting to hear back from UF before applying to other schools. I've looked into USF or Santa Fe, but their deadlines are much later. I don't like thinking about it though, cause I definitely feel like all my eggs are in one basket here. I'm sure my BF is getting tired of be bringing it up... I feel like I'm a senior in high school all over again, ha! Hopefully we find out closer to the end of February than mid-March!
@tabularawsa I was looking into Remington College as well. The tuition is pretty steep and its unclear what score they require on the TEAS.
@sarahbochat I know how you feel the UF program is my last bet, and I'm nervous sick with that understanding.
USF ASBN deadline for summer 15 is March 1st if you want to apply to the program .
@sarahbochat I was planning on applying to USF, as well, but got discourage after being told you need a 3.65 gpa which I don't have . But I wish you the most luck with getting admitted. I heard the decision is based 40% on the essay and 60% gpa.
@gPtn its so hard not to have anxiety over something when your passionate about it. Im planning on working out to distract myself lol
I spoke (emailed with) Ken Foote, the Admissions Coordinator for the College of Nursing on 1/27. He indicated to me that offer letters would be out by the "end of February". Which I think is probably a conservatively late estimate. Most likely, we'll be hearing within the next two weeks.
Hi Guys!
My name is Sarah. I currently live in Charlotte, NC. I have a previous degree in Athletic Training. GPA of 3.75. My GRE is right on the line for the requirements. Little nervous about that. I volunteer with multiple volunteer organizations but nothing medical. I work as an ATC on weekends and as a nanny during the week. I took all my pre-reqs through night classes (kill me). I received a Navy Scholarship for school and upon completion of a program, I'll be off to basic! Ekk! The wait is starting to get to me! I also applied to MUSC, Duke and Utica College in Tampa. Best of luck everyone!
There is no TEAS requirement for the UF Accelerated BSN program.

I've applied to a few all over FL. Not ready to leave just yet! UF is my number one choice though. As far as I've seen, UF IS the only that requests GRE over TEAS scores. In fact, only one of the schools I'm applying to, Remington in Lake Mary, FL, requires the TEAS.
